Show Notes

It was a case that divided the Triangle area in 2006 I’m talking about the Duke Lacrosse case when a young exotic dancer said and college student a student alleged that she had been raped at the Durham residence of two of the team's captains, in March of 2006. Investigation and resolution of the case sparked public discussion of racism, sexual violence, media bias, and due process on campuses. The former lead prosecutor, Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong, ultimately resigned in disgrace, and was disbarred and briefly imprisoned for violating ethics standards. The Attorney General at that time Roy Cooper declared the three players innocent. Recently , Mangum admitted to fabricating the assault. Author, radio talk show host and filmmaker Ed Clark joined Jon Champion on the WPTF Afternoon News to talk about the case.
