September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about a topic that is often stigmatized and taboo. Amy Brundle, a spokesperson for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, North Carolina, joined Jeff Hamlin to discuss the urgent need to decrease the number of suicide deaths, which have become a leading cause of death in the U.S., particularly for those aged 10 to 24. Brundle highlighted steps to identify if a loved one is in danger and the resources available, including hotlines, for those seeking help.
