On July 30th, 1975, one of the most influential men in the country disappeared without a trace. Because of his union leadership, many working Americans considered him their hero, but he also had powerful enemies. He is popularly believed to have been the victim of a Mafia hit though conclusive evidence was never found and his fate remains a mystery.
