Ep 453453: Feeding Your Family The Wise Traditions Way
Where to start to nourish our family well? How do we make the time and develop rhythms to feed the family ancestrally? How can we incorporate more nutrient-dense foods on a regular basis? What if the family isn't "into it"? How do we handle moving in this direction, when the whole world seems to be going the other way? We posed these questions to a panel of experts at the Wise Traditions conference in Kansas in October 2023. Maureen Diaz, Hilary Boynton, Christine Muldoon, and Sally Fallon Morell were the panelists of wise women, who have much experience and over 20 kids collectively! Maureen leads God's Good Table. Hilary Boynton is an author and the head of School of Lunch. Christine Muldoon, from the Modern Ancestral Mamas podcast, is head of Nourish the Littles. And Sally Fallon Morell is the founder and president of the Weston A. Price Foundation. On this LIVE podcast, they tackle these questions and more. They address how to handle picky eaters, how to meal plan, and how they handle feelings of loneliness and challenge. They even share their secret tools of the trade, along with mistakes they've made along the way. We hope this live interview inspires you to continue to nourish your family well. 452: Start Small: A Conversation With Doug And Stacy
What would ever possess a couple to live off grid, with no electricity, no plumbing, and so removed from civilization? For Doug and Stacy, it started with small changes that they began to make to improve their health. Little by little, the small shifts they incorporated–such as replacing a plastic shower curtain and changing the timing of meals–took them closer and closer to a lifestyle that was sustainable, fulfilling, health-enhancing and ultimately, yes, off grid. Over time, they lost weight, eliminated brain fog, and regained energy and vitality. This couple, most known for their YouTube channel "Off Grid with Doug and Stacy", shows us what's possible. They remind us that good health is attainable through small steps. And that such steps just might get us to live to the ripe old age of 120, whether we go completely off grid or not. She covers the various stages of this life transition for women (peri-menopause, post-menopause, and everything in between) and offers insights and tips for managing them. She also talks about what a taboo subject menopause is in many cultures. Finally, she reminds us there's nothing to fear about it and suggests we can disrupt ageist stereotypes at every age and stage. Ep 449449: Stop Counting Calories. Count Nutrients Instead
For too long we've been obsessed with calorie-counting. It's high time we started counting nutrients instead. Dianne Koehler is the owner and Director of the Nutrition Therapy Institute (NTI) in Colorado. Today, Dianne helps us get a handle on what to look for when it comes to feeding ourselves and our families nutrient-dense food. She goes over the building blocks of nutrition. She explains why we must carefully evaluate claims on packages and advice from governmental agencies about what to eat. She goes over how to determine which foods actually serve us best and how to identify foods that deserve the label "superfood". (Hint: these are foods that offer the most nutrient-density and come from animal products that are well-sourced). In sum, she gives tips for making better choices in the day-to-day. And along the way she tells about the a-ha that led her to abandon her vegan diet for a more nutrient-rich one, for her and her family. Ep 448448: What You Need To Know About The Latest Covid mRNA Shot

Ep 447447: How To Tell If You Have Parasites (And What To Do About It)
Itchiness. Indigestion. Digestive issues. Allergies. Asthma. Brain fog. Even food sensitivities. All of these could indicate that there is a parasite imbalance in the body. Laura Villanti, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and the founder of At Home with Wellness, helps guide you to determine how to test for parasites, the most effective protocols for eliminating them, and how to become a "bad host" for them. Laura goes over, in detail, why not all parasite testing is accurate and which she recommends the most. She explains the role of parasites (yes, nature has a task for them) and how an imbalance can lead to trouble and what to do about it. She gets specific about how to avoid getting parasites in the first place, with simple tips, like thoroughly washing produce, maintaining a clean home, ingesting specific herbs, and also making sure that our beloved pets don't accidentally transmit their parasites to us. 446. Know Your Rancher And You Will Always Have Food
Do you ever wonder where your steak came from? Did you know that there are only four major companies that control the majority of the beef supply in the U.S.? This is one reason that our food supply chain is so fragile. And this is what AJ Richards is setting out to change. AJ is a combat veteran, an entrepreneur and the head of Sustenance Earth, Inc. He wants to help everyone understand the importance of knowing the provenance of their food and establishing food security. As AJ puts it, it's time to "shake the hand that feeds us" by getting to know our local rancher. Going local upsets the conventional beef industry but it shores up your food security. You see, it's the beef industry centralization that is compounding issues in our national US food system...and that same system is negatively impacting our health and food sovereignty. AJ highlights today some of the issues with the current system and how to opt out of it, for the sake of your health and food freedom). He also tells of a standoff that his family had with the Bureau of Land Management that was attempting to confiscate their land. Ep 445445: Raw Milk Near Me
When was pasteurization introduced and why? Should adults drink raw milk? What nutrients does it contain? And where can I get it? If you're intrigued by raw milk, you've come to the right place! Sally Fallon Morell, president of the Weston A. Price Foundation, today answers all of these questions and more. She also gives an update on which states in the U.S. (nearly all, except for four) have legalized its sale. And she explains how raw milk is nature's most complete food (and a fragile one that should be treated with care). Ep 444444: How (And Why) To Detox
Non-native electro-magnetic frequencies (EMFs). PFAs (forever chemicals in the air and food). Heavy metals. Mold. These are just some of the toxins in our environment that assail us. And that we need to get out of the body so that it can function optimally. Today's guest is Adam Parker, a detox expert and the host of the Your Ideal Day podcast. He reviews simple steps to detox (including dry brushing and rebounding) and more intense protocols (like flushes, cleanses, and enemas). He goes over the use of castor oil, olive oil and lemon juice, dandelion root and chamomile as part of the detox process. In sum, he explains the how and the why behind detoxification and makes a strong case for its use, especially if you're feeling "stuck" with no explanation for your health concerns. Ep 443443: Cultivate Mindfulness To Navigate These Times
How can you develop mindfulness beyond meditating on a mat? Are there ways to start to tap into your intuition? And how can these tools (along with critical thinking) help us navigate turbulent times? Ora Nadrich is the author of "Live True: A Mindfulness Guide to Authenticity" and "Time to Awaken." She is also the founder and president of the Institute for Transformational Thinking. Today, she offers insights on what we've been through in recent years and how to keep going and growing in the midst of the panic, fear, and uncertainty. She talks about how to develop discernment to distinguish the difference between illusions and reality and she offers ideas for cultivating calm when anxiety seems to be lurking around every corner. Ep 442442: Return To Real Food
There are so many ingredients on food labels that are unrecognizable to us. This likely means that they are unrecognizable to our bodies, as well--which means that they're harming rather than helping us. Vani Hari, known as the Food Babe, is a best-selling author and activist that is dedicated to uncovering what's in our food and how it's affecting us, so that we can be empowered in the supermarket, restaurant, and in our own kitchens, to nourish ourselves well. She covers the importance of avoiding food dyes, "natural flavorings," and refined sugars, as a starting place. She talks about the personal ramifications of going after the food industry and revealing its secrets...and why she remains undaunted. Lastly, she offers timely advice for feeding the family well and why, as far as she's concerned, the 80/20 "rule" (eating well for 80% of the time) doesn't cut it anymore. Ep 441441: Could Your Lawn Become a Food Forest?
Most American lawns are lovely...but not exactly an efficient use of space. What if we made the most of the land, helping to turn it into a source of sustenance for our families and communities? We could use permacultural principles to understand the land and collaborate with current ecosystems to help bring about its full potential. So says guest Jim Gale of Food Forest Abundance. On today's episode, Jim talks about how to get started with small shifts: how to decide what to plant and where to get started exactly. He also covers the importance of protecting ourselves against food shortages through better land management. And how we might cross our own mental barriers to start to explore this somewhat alternative lifestyle. Ep 440440: Cows Save The Planet
Cows have gotten a bad rap in recent years. Their flatulence and burps have been cited as contributing to climate change. But what if that's not the case? What if, in fact, cows are actually helping save the planet? Judith D. Schwartz is a journalist and the author of "Cows Save the Planet." Today, she sheds light on how much we need for cows for healthy soil. She describes the diversity of such soil (that the cows enrich) in detail, highlighting the soil's micro and macro diversity (including "mega fauna" such as earthworms)! She reminds us that the very minerals we seek for our children (often in the form of multivitamins) are found in the soil. Judith points out the critical role cattle play in cultivating such richness and how it benefits the world both today and tomorrow. Ep 439439: What If Germs Don't Cause Disease?
Germ theory doesn't hold water upon close examination. Shots against disease are worthless. Dr. William Trebing equips us today to stand strong against the mantra that "vaccines are safe and effective." And to defend our rights and the rights of our children against inoculations. Dr. William Trebing is a board-certified chiropractic physician with a specialty in neurology and radiology who has been in private practice for thirty-eight years. He is the author of "Goodbye Germ Theory." Today, he dispels germ theory, while uncovering other malevolent efforts to propagate untruths to the detriment of our health. Ep 438438: Reduce Waste For A More Sustainable Lifestyle
We've been told to recycle, repurpose, and reuse to reduce waste. But do our efforts make any difference? Is there a way to reduce the amount we generate, in the first place? And why does it matter? Jill Winger is the author of "Old Fashioned on Purpose" and the host of the podcast by the same name. Today, she offers insights about how to reduce our waste. She gives both the why and the how. She discusses the problem waste creates in our own homes and for the planet. She notes, for example, that 40% of the oceans are now covered in plastic! She also offers ideas for reducing the waste we produce in our homes—by avoiding buying cheap products that end up more quickly in landfills, for example. Ep 437437. Mom's Tool Kit Of Natural Remedies
How do you address stomach aches, sleep issues, bee stings, and more? Erin O'Donnell, author of "Fully Alive," shares what has worked for her family for all of the above. Her natural tool kit remedies include chamomile tea for calming the nervous system (and avoiding pinkeye), tart cherry juice for lowering inflammation, and even getting naked in the garden (or at least as naked as possible). Erin offers practical tips throughout the episode and also discusses her son's tongue tie and the changes that resulted once it was corrected. She also discusses the surprising deleterious health effects of a seemingly innocuous change in her family's home environment. Ep 435435: Remove Limiting Beliefs And Move From Dis-Ease To Ease
How can we rise above limiting beliefs or our present circumstances? How is our mindset tied to our health? And how can we renew both our minds and core being to realize our full potential? Peter Crone, also known as the Mind Architect, is a writer, speaker, and thought leader in human awakening and potential. Today, he shines a light on the lies or stories we tell ourselves or submit to that don't serve us. Peter explains how inadequacy and insecurity can lead to sickness or dis-ease. And he offers insights for learning to live in a way that enables us to face life differently and experience true freedom and peace. Ep 434434: From Vegetarian To Butcher
What could possibly persuade someone to go from vegetarian to butcher? Kate Kavanaugh tells what shifted in her that led to this profound lifestyle and dietary change. Kate is indeed a butcher, and also a farmer, and the host of the Mind, Body, and Soil podcast, among other initiatives. Today, she shares insights on our place in the complex web of nourishment. Among other things, she conveys her realization that what we eat becomes us, in a very real sense; how the seasons affect the fat and protein on an animal's body; and how uncomfortable we feel with the death of animals…and just plain death, period. Kate also gets practical as she explains the process of processing (what happens to our meat before it hits our table) and how to find farms near us, wherever we live. Ep 433433: Gender Dysphoria
What is causing gender confusion? Can anything be done to prevent it? Sally Fallon Morell, President of the Weston A. Price Foundation, covers today how to promote healthy hormonal function, covering material found in the Wise Traditions journal from the winter of 2022. Sally reviews the fact that nutrition is foundational for optimal hormonal function. She advises that we eat a diet replete with the right fats, whole raw milk, and include plenty of red meat and eggs from pastured animals. She discusses the hormone disruptors found in our food and environment: including seed oils and plastic. She also talks about the problems with sex change operations and puberty-blocking drugs. Ep 432432: Bucking The Mainstream System
Do you ever question the mainstream narrative about health, food, and the government? When you do, what do you do? Do you go with your gut or with the public agenda? What if you disagree with where it's taking you? How do you resist? The late Ronnie Cummins explains how to buck the system on multiple levels. Ronnie is the founder and former director of the Organic Consumers Association (OCA), a long-time activist, protestor, and author. Ronnie passed away in April of 2023, but in May 2022, he shared his take on the state of world affairs, the importance of local, organic food, and how to live healthily in this contaminated world. Ronnie wasn't just referring to toxins in our physical environment, but also in overreaching government, pharmaceutical companies, and leaders who collaborate to further their own interests in place of the interests of humanity. Ronnie offers insights today on how to buck the system and escape the mainstream ideological paradigm. Visit the Organic Consumers Association Spread the word! Share our Wise Traditions podcast link. Ep 431431: Still Sick? The Sun Can Help
Brain fog. Low energy. Digestive issues. Anxiety. All of the above could simply be symptoms of a lack of natural sunlight. Carrie Bennett of the Quantum Body Collective today covers the many benefits of sunlight: how it can help heal the gut, sync our circadian rhythm, and set off a cascade of proper hormonal function for improved health and mood. Carrie gets specific about the hormones that get "turned on" by the sunlight and their effect on the mood and body. She also explains how those who are fair-skinned or sun-shy can approach getting more sunshine, and she even has advice for those whose eyes are sensitive to its light and feel like they need to wear sunglasses all the time. Ep 430430: Why "Regenerative Agriculture" Is Not Enough
Regenerative agriculture has been hailed as the solution for restoring the health of the soil...and the entire planet. But this label--"regenerative agriculture"--is limited in its scope. A new paradigm may be needed for true healing to occur. Daniel Griffith, author, co-manager of Timshel Wildland and President of the Robinia Institute, today calls us to consider a shift in how we perceive our relationship to the land and to ourselves. He reminds us that we ARE the earth and the soil, in many respects, and that we need to heal in ways we may not have previously understood. Returning to our roots may lead us down a new path, that has no label. He reframes the conversation about farming and healing in today's discussion. Daniel also shares insights about his own health story and how he went from physically broken to restoring his natural balance and renewing his health. Ep 429429: Myth-Busting Modern Biology
Question everything. This is the challenge of Dr. Tom Cowan, author, podcaster, and proponent of the "new biology." Tom suggests that our current understanding of modern biology is based on a number of assumptions that we need to reexamine. Today, Tom busts myths (and perceptions) related to the covid virus (and viruses, in general), spike proteins, and the idea that humans can be genetically modified. He calls into question the notion that cell membranes have receptors, the concept of the human "virome," the idea of specific antibodies, and even our understanding of the body's immune system! Tom points out fallacious thinking in scientific circles. And he makes a strong case for a need to re-think viruses, contagion, and many other aspects of modern biology. Ep 428428: Toxic Superfoods: Identify And Avoid Oxalates
So many innocent-looking "healthy" foods (even so-called "superfoods") could be actually compromising your health! Carrots, beets, spinach, and cashews, for example. These plant foods, and others, contain oxalates that trigger inflammation, steal minerals, destroy connective tissue and lead to a host of problems like kidney stones, arthritis, joint pain, osteoporosis, and oxidative stress in the body. Sally Norton, the author of Toxic Superfoods: How Oxalate Overload Is Making You Sick--and How to Get Better today reviews which foods to avoid (including potatoes, figs, nuts, some berries, and, yes, even chocolate) and what to do if you have symptoms of oxalate overload. Ep 427427: Address Adrenal Fatigue
Many of us walk around feeling drained, tired and depleted. What would it look like if we had the energy we longed for? No more afternoon crashes? No more brain fog? Kristen Files is a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Master Restorative Wellness Practitioner and the head of Forest Creek Wellness. Today, she talks today about adrenal fatigue, what leads to it, and how to address it. She covers identifying the symptoms, which can present as an inability to "turn off" at the end of the day, a lack of motivation, or procrastination. She also tells her story of how she was "born tired" and what shifts she noticed as she addressed the root causes of adrenal fatigue. Finally, she offers ideas for how to help heal and regulate your physiology. Visit Kristen's website: forestcreekwellness.com Become a member of the Weston A. Ep 426426: Defending Bodily Autonomy
It is unethical, immoral, and inappropriate for an individual, business, institution, organization, or government to force a person to put something into their body, or on their body, against their will. The Health Freedom Defense Fund, led by Leslie Manookian, is defending our right to bodily autonomy in the United States. They have won significant cases against the executive branch in the U.S. and currently have cases against Nike, Disney, and LAUSD. Their objective? To protect the constitutional rights of those who have simply been denied their rights to bodily autonomy. Some were denied religious exemptions from vaccinations; others were harassed for refusing to comply with mandates. Still, others were obligated to wear masks by the CDC (that only has the power to recommend courses of action, not to mandate them). Today, Leslie describes how her group seeks justice and defends our rights. She shares the hurdles they face and what successes they've had. She also touches on what she foresees down the line in terms of mandates and potential victories over them. Visit Leslie's website: Healthfreedomdefense.org Become a member of the Weston A. Ep 425425: How Vegetable Oils Destroy Our Health
Vegetable oils (A.K.A seed oils) are pro-oxidative, pro-inflammatory, toxic, and nutrient-deficient. And they are virtually everywhere--used for cooking meals in restaurants, in our processed foods, condiments, and more. These oils create mitochondrial dysfunction that inevitably leads to different health conditions, including obesity, coronary heart disease, cancers, type 2 diabetes, dementia, Alzheimer's, age-related macular degeneration, autoimmune conditions, and more. Dr. Chris Knobbe, author of "The Ancestral Diet Revolution," sounds the alarm that seed oils are the primary driver of these health issues. He points to countless studies and data that make this case. And he also offers solutions, pointing out what foods to avoid (like pork and chicken from Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations, for example, and certain nuts and seeds) and other strategies to help reduce omega-6 fatty acids in the body and restore our health. Ep 424424: Biohacking The Ancestral Way
Biohacking is trending: it's the art and science of optimizing the environment inside and outside of you to take control of your biology. This sometimes means using modern tools (or hacks). But this doesn't mean buying the latest and greatest gadgets, necessarily. Tim Gray is one of the most prominent biohackers of our time and the founder of the Health Optimisation Summit in the U.K. Today, he explains why the simplest "biohacking," like a nutrient-dense diet, plenty of sunshine, and sufficient sleep--offer the best foundation for our health. He also shares the serious health crisis that precipitated him to take his health into his own hands. He gets specific about detoxing protocols he used, enumerating those that provided the greatest benefit. Finally, he reminds us why we would do well to remain open-minded about new approaches to healing. Ep 423423: The Scoop On The COVID19 Shot
Even though the covid "health emergency" has officially ended, lots of questions remain. The COVID19 shot is still being recommended by the CDC for inclusion on the childhood vaccination schedule. Boosters are continually encouraged. And one-third of private businesses still have COVID19 shot-related mandates in place. Dr. Larry Palevsky, a holistic pediatrician, has been questioning all of the above (and the shots themselves) since the beginning. He has witnessed the deleterious effects of the COVID19 injection, as have countless healthcare workers. Larry, today, tells us what is shifting, in terms of healthcare practitioners' view of the injections and the health care system, itself. He also shares protocols for detoxing from the shot, and how to build a strong health foundation, come what may. Ep 422422: Homesteading: This vs. That
In our modern lives, we look for things to make our lives easier and more convenient. So why would we choose to do anything that requires more energy and effort?! DIY projects around the house, cooking meals from scratch, and even growing produce or raising livestock all require a lot of elbow grease. Jill Winger, podcaster, author, and host of the Old Fashioned on Purpose podcast, helps us explore a more conscious approach to living simply. She discusses the benefits of rolling up our sleeves and working with our hands: slowing down, a deeper connection with our food, improved health, and mindfulness! She also covers what happens to our brains and bodies when life is "too easy." Visit Jill's website: theprairiehomestead.com Become a WAPF member and enjoy our minisodes! Ep 421421: Pfizer Documents Exposé
In March 2022, the court ordered the release of Pfizer documents, but they were lengthy and overwhelming--very challenging for the average person to go through, let alone understand. Daily Clout, a successful civic tech company, gathered over 3000 scientists and doctors to comb through them and analyze them, and what they found is truly astounding. Naomi Wolf is the CEO and co-founder of the Daily Clout, and today she goes over what the analysis of the documents revealed: the Pfizer mRNA injection causes a host of side effects, including death, stroke, infertility, neurological symptoms, covid itself, and clotting. The shots negatively impact human reproduction. They shed and transmit spike proteins through inhalation, skin contact, and sweat from the vaccinated to anyone. Worst of all, evidence indicates that Pfizer did not just turn a blind eye to these results, as if they were unintended consequences. According to the experts who analyzed the documents, Pfizer expected these results and intentionally sought to harm the world's populace. Visit Naomi Wolf's Daily Clout. Ep 420420: The Enemy Of Weight Loss
What are the enemies of weight loss? Dr. Guillermo Navarrete, known as Nutrillermo, today identifies what they are and how to fight them for better health. He addresses sugar addiction and how to overcome it. Dr. Navarrete exposes the cozy relationship between BIG AG, BIG FOOD, and BIG PHARMA and how that is influencing our food choices. And he reveals the parallels between a mother's breast milk and what nourishes us, as adults, best. He also shares his own personal issues with weight gain (and loss) and what he's doing today to keep the numbers down and his health up (hint: it has to do with eating nutrient-dense animal products). See Dr. Navarrete's website. Register for the event at Sally's farm on May 21. Check out our sponsors: NTI, Upgraded Formulas, Optimal Carnivore

Ep 419419: True Midwifery
What is the history of midwifery? Why has this profession been villainized in the past and how is it seen today? Is it legal in all states? What is transcendent about birth...and death? And how does it help to have someone present to assist? Lindsey Meehleis addresses all of the above. Lindsey is a board-certified midwife who was recently featured in the Heart & Soil movie "Nourished." She addresses the controversy of the way the movie starts: with two contrasting placentas. One from a mother who was well nourished, and another who was not. She also describes her commitment to making sure the baby's arrival is as safe and smooth, as possible. And why she believes we need to return to the model of womb-to-tomb care for tending to the sick and those who are arriving and departing from this planet. Lindsey is part of the "remembering" of honoring life, death, and everything in between. Ep 418418: Is Small Farming Sustainable?
In 2022, Vermont had 130 organic farms. Just one year later, there are only 60, with another 30 expected to go out of business in the next 12 months. How can we turn things around? And is small farming actually sustainable? Cynthia and Rich Larson of Larson Farm in Vermont are grass dairy farmers that are working on the sustainability of their own farm and of those around them, too. They know that sustainability has to do with more than just what works for the land. It must also be valuable for the community and economically sustainable for the farmer. This is one reason they have joined hands with a local Land Care Community of 17 grass-based dairies in Vermont. They are a group that wants to leave the land in better shape than when they found it. They are working to improve the ecosystem, protect the watershed, reduce pollution and regenerate the soil. They use modern equipment and strategies for facing farming challenges. Rich and Cynthia today tell their story about that partnership, how and why they transitioned from commercial farming to organic, and why they invite others to get into farming, too. Ep 417417: Where Physical, Emotional, And Mental Health Meet
Depression. Arrhythmia. Stress. Emotional burdens. How can we address our complex health conditions? And how is the physical related to the mental and emotional components of wellbeing? And is it best to address issues with conventional or unconventional protocols? Anette Ruiz is a holistic health coach and communications specialist. Alberto is a certified permaculturist and talk show host. Today, they tell their story of facing seemingly insurmountable health crises. Anette had moderate-to-severe depression; Alberto, a heart condition. Their island got hit by Hurricane Maria, and their stress levels went through the roof. They discuss today how they faced these experiences and what they learned through them--particularly how they have incorporated tools for holistic living that address the physical, mental, and emotional health of the body. Among other topics, they cover how to recognize the symptoms of depression, the power of gratitude, and why they will not use a microwave oven. P.S. We're so glad to have Anette and Alberto tell their story. We want you to get to know them, in part because they will soon be the new hosts of our Spanish "sister" podcast: Tradiciones Sabias! Ep 414414: More Dangerous Than A Snakebite
What could possibly be more dangerous to your health and life than a rattlesnake bite? Vaccinations. Our guest, Curtis Cost, the author of "Vaccines are Dangerous," explains why shots have more serious consequences than many may have initially realized. Curtis describes problems, beyond "side effects," that can arise not only from the covid-19 shot, but from all shots. Conditions like autoimmune dysfunction, asthma, allergies, and other debilitating issues that result from injections are often not perceived as triggered by vaccines. Curtis connects the dots. He also goes over why he's especially passionate about getting the message out about the inherent dangers of these shots to the African American community. Ep 413413: Improve Fertility With Vitamin A
Appropriate nutrition can enhance fertility. Specifically, vitamin A has a critical role to play in reproductive health. Its presence in the body can improve the chances of conception. And its absence can impede the process. Pam Schoenfeld, a registered dietician with a specialty on family and reproductive nutrition, today shares her experience and research for improving fertility simply by increasing vitamin A intake, as a starting point. She goes over how to recognize the signs of deficiency and how to incorporate foods that offer the best sources of vitamin A, like eggs, liver, raw milk, and fish eggs. She also gets specific about what vitamin A does for the reproductive system of both men and women and how it facilitates conception. Ep 412412: Viruses Broken Down
For most of our lives, we've been taught that viruses make us sick. But there is important evidence that has been overlooked by both virologists and the public. Today, Alec Zeck, the Executive Director and Founder of the Way Forward, breaks down viruses. He reviews the history of virology, the assumptions behind the science, and explains where we've gone wrong in our understanding of what causes ill health. His conclusions, based on his extensive research, paint a very different picture of the "pandemic" of recent years and offer insights for the days ahead. Ep 411411: Urine Therapy Explained
What if urine isn't a waste product? Did you know that, for centuries, it was considered a "golden elixir" for healing? Amandha Vollmer today describes the history and practice of urine therapy and how it has been used as a remedy over the centuries for resolving diseases, blood clots, infections, and skin issues. Urine, we now know, actually contains stem cells---undifferentiated cells that promote healing and regeneration. Amandha addresses why it's worth getting over the "ick" factor to apply this beneficial therapy, topically and internally. Ep 410410: Eat Like Your Health Depends On It
What would it look like to eat as if our health depended on it? What would we need to change? Steve Campbell, a cattle consultant running Tailor Made Cattle, had an accident that turned his whole world upside down. He realized that to heal properly, he needed to change his diet, and this led him to look at the provenance of his food and the health of the soil. What he has learned along the way is that what works for farmers and cattle ranchers works for human beings too: the power of epigenetics (lifestyle and dietary changes to support health), how to live "organic by design" (as opposed to by default), and how to foster an environment (on the land and in the body) that supports diversity, good health, and life. Ep 409409: Off Grid in Brazil
What would it be like to live in the Brazilian Amazon for over 20 years, off grid, 18 hours away from any hospital, hardly speaking the language, while simultaneously running a cattle ranch? John Carter of Aliança Da Terra today describes the many lessons he and his wife gleaned from their time there. From the health and happiness he observed among his neighbors, the Kamayurá Indian, to the negative influence of the government and corporations that he saw unfold over the years. Ep 408408: Homeopathy: A Medical System Worth Saving
What difference can a homeopathic remedy make? And why should consumers care about and protect their rights to access homeopathic medicine? Paola Brown and Laura Held of Americans for Homeopathy Choice answer these questions and more on today's podcast. They explain how, at one time in the United States, half of the medical schools, colleges, and hospitals relied on homeopathic remedies for restoring health. But today, the FDA is considering ruling homeopathic remedies as "unapproved drugs" and consequently granting themselves the right to pull them off the shelves. Why the policy shift? And what can we do about it? Our guests describe several courses of action. Visit Paola and Laura's website: homeopathychoice.org Become a member of the Weston A. Ep 407407: Build The 4th Phase Of Water In The Body
The human body is over 2/3 water, but it's not the water you get from the tap. It's also not a solid, liquid, or gas. Dr. Gerald Pollack, scientist, researcher and author, explains the Fourth Phase of Water that is in the body. He goes over what it is exactly, how we can build more of it (through certain foods and light exposure) and how it helps us age more slowly and live more healthily. Ep 406406: Avoid Seed Oils
The bottles of yellow oil on the supermarket shelves are labeled heart-healthy but they are in actuality damaging for our health (and the heart). These seed oils are unstable fats extruded from seeds that are not meant for human consumption. They are deodorized and colorized to make them look and taste appealing, but they are rancid and difficult to digest. They can (and do) lead to a host of health conditions from obesity, to cancer, to diabetes, to premature aging. Sally Fallon Morell, president of the Weston A. Price Foundation, describes the issues with these oils: canola, safflower, sunflower, soy and more. Sally explains how to spot the seed oils in our foods and how to swap them out of the diet. Ep 405405: COVID Shot Fallout
Did you receive the COVID shot and experience any adverse events? Do you know anyone that was injured or died unexpectedly after receiving the shot? Mark Skidmore, an expert in public finance and policy evaluation, has been scouring reports from vaccine manufacturers and the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System to get answers. He has even conducted a survey to pose the very questions above. His goal? To try to get a handle on just what the fallout has been (so far) from the COVID vaccination initiatives in the U.S. He communicates what he's learned on today's episode.
