Tech Tuesday with ABC News Technology Reporter Mike Dobuski includes how over the weekend, Ring announced it is parting ways with Flock Safety. The partnership was controversial from the beginning, as Flock makes license plate reader technology. Combined with Ring's "Community Requests" feature, which allows police departments to ask for Ring camera footage, many voiced concerns the two companies could be used as tools of mass surveillance. Does the breakup address that problem? And speaking of surveillance, the New York Times reports that Meta is considering introducing facial recognition technology to its lineup of smart glasses, prompting widespread privacy concerns.
