Tech Wednesday: No More Sora
ABC News Technology Reporter Mike Dobuski talks about how in a surprise move Tuesday, OpenAI announced it’s getting rid of its much-hyped AI video-generation tool, which it called “Sora.” Sora was originally launched in 2024 and quickly garnered plaudits, and panic, over its ability to render seemingly realistic video in just seconds. Fuel Costs Impacting Flight Costs
ABC News Correspondent Alex Stone talks about how in a one-on-one interview at LAX on Tuesday, United CEO Scott Kirby said consumers should be aware that ticket prices are rising and will need to increase about 20% to cover the surging cost of fuel. As United braces for oil prices potentially reaching $175 a barrel due to the conflict in Iran, Kirby urged travelers to lock in planned trips now to take advantage of current fares. United expects fuel to cost the airline an additional $11 billion year over year. Kirby also showed off United’s new premium products, including upgraded seating, enhanced food options, Starlink connectivity, and additional flight offerings.

ABC News Morning Anchor Cheri Preston talks about how a regional Air Canada jet collided into a Port Authority airport vehicle at LaGuardia Airport in New York City, an on-the-ground crash that demolished the front of the airplane, killed two pilots, injured dozens of passengers and prompted the airport to shut down, law enforcement and aviation officials said. The pilot and the co-pilot of the plane were killed in the crash, officials said. Two of the injured were Port Authority officers and the other 39 were passengers, officials said. Epstein Lawyer "No Knowledge Whatsoever"
ABC News Investigative Reporter Peter Charalambous talks about how in his opening statement to the House Oversight Committee Thursday, Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime attorney Darren Indyke claimed that he had “no knowledge whatsoever” of the late financier’s crimes and categorically denied facilitating the sex trafficking of women and claimed that he would have quit working for Epstein had he known about his abuse and trafficking of women. According to Indyke, Epstein vowed to never commit another crime after his 2008 guilty plea. Indyke also addressed some of the allegations in civil lawsuits filed after Epstein’s death, including that he withdrew hundreds of thousands in cash for Epstein and coordinated sham marriages to keep victims in the United States.

Missing College Student's Body Found
Former Special Agent Rich Frankel talks about how police in Barcelona confirmed Thursday that they had recovered a body identified as missing University of Alabama student James "Jimmy" Gracey, 20, who disappeared earlier this week while on a spring break trip to visit friends. Gracey was last seen around 3:00AM local time Tuesday on security footage leaving a popular Barcelona nightclub with an unidentified person after a night out with his fraternity brothers. The investigation is ongoing.
