Ep 238Midnight Magic Tarot

E

Our banter for the episode includes wearing curlers in public and Convincing Esther to move to the West Coast when getting back to the states. Our question of the episode our listener asks about pivoting to a new career in Wedding and Event planning. Our questions of the episode involve the transition to a new job role that's a bit out of our listener's comfort zone. As well as a listener wondering what to do with friends who have gone "Q-woo" and pursuing new friendships. Our deck of the episode is the Traditional Korean Tarot by Bana; an artist Esther has been personally obsessed with for years. To the point she brings out her entire collection of "Tumble Bugged" decks and extras she's hoarded from this artist. So if you're so inclined, support this deck before the Kickstarter ends! E

(Apologies for Esther's mic issues, all of the mics were actively dying during recording and we didn't realize until later what had happened.) Our Handy-Dandy-Form didn't have any question submissions for this episode, so Holly sat Esther down to do a reading for her trip to Thailand and how meaningful it's going to be. Then to build on that Esther has had writer's block surrounding a mantra for her tattoo that she'll be getting on the trip so we talk through things and use the fab Compendium of Constellations to build one! Our deck of the episode is Cosmic C*nt Tarot by Samatha West. E

In this episode we immediately get down to business because *someone* has jury duty. In our first question of the episode, a listener asks how to connect with their Grandmother using tarot so we pull out "Ancestral Tarot" by Nancy Hendrikson and use a spread she created to connect with our beloved dead. Our second question of the episode asks what our listener can do to expand and become more confident in their practice. Our deck of the episode welcomes a new format we will periodically do where we take turns trying to convince the other to buy a deck they haven't acquired yet. This week, Holly is trying to convince Esther to purchase "The Tarot of Curious Creatures" by Chris Anne. While everyone knows how much we both love Chris-Anne, Esther isn't too keen on art with weird faces...so listen to find out how she reacts to this recommendation from Holly! Ep 221Moon Tarot Baby

E

Our opening banter is still us continuing to enjoy the "Idiots to lovers" trope in Romance, referencing a book (or two) that have hit that sweet spot recently. Our first question of the episode is more of an update from a listener!! (We love those!) Our second question is from Stephen Hanrahan asking the cards if starting an OnlyFans (or something similar) is a good direction to go towards since Instagram isn't the best platform for artists. We're back with our first deck review of our Fall series talking about a Hoi Polloi clone called Moon Baby Tarot! Yes, we know it's a short episode. Ep 220Questions

E

In our review-less episode we (totally on purpose *cough*) start out by giving listeners a sneak peak in what goes into our choosing a deck to review each week. Then as banter we talk about the "Neutral Shift Cycle" concept and how it's opened our eyes to so many trends from our lifetimes. The first question from our listener, combines things she is working on in therapy and asking us how to expand on those ideas and concepts. Our second question, from Natalie, allows us to be a little more indulgent in pulling cards for each other asks us to elaborate on why we're so great. Our final question is from a listener who is trying to balance supporting their husband and taking care of themselves in the process. On the Patreon this week is the first episode in our Charmed Season Two review. (Episodes 1-11)! We love the tone of season two so much and are thankful that we decided not to just skip the seasons. If you want more hot goss about our summer, you can check out our Post Hiatus Wrap Up episode on Patreon! A question from our first listener asks about reading tarot as an athiest/agnotic. (Just for documentation; we suggested to explore an Archetypal Tarot style called Jungian Tarot. So check that out if you're interested!) We also go into exploring other woo-woo areas that may come up in their journey. The second question of our episode our listener asks about staying with her current company and potential career opportunities or starting to see what else is out there. The Highlights of our Hiatus were: Life Line Tarot , Pink Sugar & Black Salt Lenormand, Stray Cat Tarot, Aibo Dog Tarot, and Circular Rider Waite Smith, Weiser Tarot. A collaborative card game called Quicktionary (Upon Holly's suggestion, Esther has already purchased a copy!) As for books here we go: Raising a Sensory Smart Child, Heartbreaker, The Scoundrel Falls Hard, How the Wallflower was Won, Scandalized, People We Meet on Vacation, Hook, Line and Sinker. Also, sending love out to the family of Norbert Loesche, creator of one of our favorite decks, Cosmic Tarot, for their passing during our hiatus. We wrote a chapter in our book about his deck, and are so thankful for his impact on our tarot practice through his artwork. Our book, The History of Tarot Art: Demystifying the Art and Arcana, Deck by Deck, is available now! Please leave an Amazon review to help with the algorithm! Do you love Holly and Esther, Existential Dread, and Bed? Then you'll love our face on everything! We got mugs, totes, phone cases, and even a tarot certification! You can find our merch here! Ep 217Re-release of the Book of Speculation

E

We're dealing with some major personal stuff that's prevented us from recording for the last few weeks (don't worry, all humans and animals are physically safe) so we're revisiting an old favorite from December of 2018--our recap of the Book of Speculation by Erika Swyler. Also, this is Holly's literal first time using the audio editing part of her brain so please bear with us! WE LOVE YOUUUU!

Ep 216Meraki Tarot

E

We open the show by bantering about modern RomComs and Holly implores everyone to go see The Lost City starring Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum and Daniel Radcliffe immediately! We did our annoucements at the front end of the episode since we have so many friends whose projects we wanted to hype! Our questions for the episode involve our first querent wanting to know how they can engage with their writing and our second querent asks about the best living situation for them and their wonderful cat, Cheese. Our friend Logan, AKA LarkAndLegend on instagram is currently kickstartering their TTRPG themed Lenormand deck! You can find out more information about the project, here! Our next friend, Jamie, whose the fastest designer that we've ever met has so many new and exciting projects each week listed in her shop that it's hard to keep up! However, aside from the hand crafted tarot items in her store, she's also having her own Kickstarter for "Out of Hand tarot". So follow that page for updates for when the project launches. Last, and definitely not least, one of our favorite decks Compendium of Constellations by Claire of Black and the Moon is available for pre-order! This is a deck that we constantly use and have loved from the start so get it now before you miss out! Our deck of the episode is Meraki Tarot and while we personally have the first edition, we were given updates from Kerri, the creator behind Bouchette Designs about the changes made in the second edition that is currently available to support on Kickstarter as well. Our book, The History of Tarot Art: Demystifying the Art and Arcana, Deck by Deck, is available now! Please leave an Amazon review to help with the algorithm! Ep 215Exquisite Familiars Oracle

E

Holly and Esther were so excited to see each other and shoot the shit that we had a lenghty banter about reading and finding our groove again! Our listener questions for this episode don't require pulling cards but are tarot related answering a "Desert Island Decks" styled question and how we created our podcast intro! Holly's Decks: Compendium of Constellations Ethereal Visions 1988 Cosmic Tarot The Vindur Deck Hilda Tarot Esther's Decks: Memento Mori Spirit Keeper's Tarot, Vitruvian edition Mesquite Tarot Morning Calm Oracle Our Tarot Then we hardcore fangirl over Exquisite Familiars Oracle from the brilliant mind of Richard Howdy aka OddMixMarket. Guidebook was written in collaboration with Judy Black and our very own Holly!!! Our book, The History of Tarot Art: Demystifying the Art and Arcana, Deck by Deck, is available now! Ep 214Good Karma Tarot

E

Holly and Esther immediately start recording after seeing each other because they both already have different thoughts about our deck of the episode! Holly also explains why her coffee delayed her appearance for their recording. (We are a pro-coffee and pro-union podcast in case that needed to be clarified.) Our questions for the episode involve whether our first querent should continue seeing a psychiatrist now that they've found a therapist. Our second querent asks how to tell a partner that they're wanting to break up and other big life questions that comes with making that decision. And finally, for our deck of the episode, The Good Karma Tarot, you find out reasons why Esther low-key/high-key doesn't like the deck and Holly enjoys it! One of the first decks in a while that has been this ~controversial between the two!

Ep 213Amor Et Psyche Oracle

E

Holly shares about her new hair gloss treatment that made her beautiful red hair more vibrant and we talk about how we narrowly avoided our "Oops All Oracle" episode becoming an "Oops all Black and the Moon Oracle" episode. Both questions for the episode are a little similar, previously we've answered questions for both questions and so there's a return to ask where the relationships stand now and how to proceed forward. Unsurprisingly, Compendium of Constellations and RECLAIM Oracle do not hold back! The Oracle deck we're reviewing this episode is Amor Et Psyche by Rachel Paul using art from Georges Barbier to create an unique oracle deck that follows the journey of love using stunning art that draws on ancient Greek myth and imagery. Our book, The History of Tarot Art: Demystifying the Art and Arcana, Deck by Deck, is available now! Please leave an Amazon review to help with the algorithm! Ep 212Contemporary Tarot Decks [Part Two]

E

The banter of the episode involves Holly and Esther talking about their much anticipated D&D game and teases for a possible future game for Patrons. Our first question of the episode asks about their career as the breadwinner of their home and how they can find a career that meets their needs both emotionally and monitarily. Our second question asks about using oracle decks in readings and we go on a ~slight rant about how Oracle decks are treated in the tarot community and about how we incorporate oracle decks into our readings! The decks we talk about in this episode come from the second half of the contemporary section of our book: Golden Girls Tarot , Le Beau Monde Tarot , Kaleidadope Tarot, TV Series Tarot, Antique Anatomy Tarot, Our Tarot, 5 Cent Tarot, Next World Tarot, Black Power Tarot, Fifth Spirit Tarot, and The Numinous Tarot. Ep 211Contemporary Tarot Decks [Part One]

E

We open our episode talking about the new Coffee/Baba Yaga tattoo Esther is getting and how things we were warned about in our childhood are absolutely not as relevant as we expected them to be. Our questions this episode ask about a job that possibly could be too good to be true for our first querent and our second question asks why we personally don't read reversals on the podcast. The decks we talk about in this episode come from the first half of the contemporary section of our book: Impressionists Tarot , Japaridze Tarot , Golden Tarot of Klimt, Moonchild Tarot , Dust II Onyx Tarot, and Guided Hand Tarot. Ep 210Motherpeace Tarot

E

Apologies for the late release of this episode, there was a death in Esther's family so we are grateful for your patience. In this episode we mention the 100 Day Dress challenge Esther is doing along with the no-clothing-buy Esther and Holly are doing together! The first question of the episode asks about when would be a good time to become a dog parent. (When this happens, we absolutely demand dog tax pictures!) Our section of question, is a longer one about the multiple decisions our querent has available to them during their Chariot year where they have many paths open to them but they're unsure which direction to go in. Our deck of the episode is the long awaited Motherpeace Tarot, the last deck that we have a chapter dedicated to in our book! We go over why this deck is so important to the legacy of tarot but also where we have apprehensions about personally using this deck in our own practice. Speaking of, our book, The History of Tarot Art: Demystifying the Art and Arcana, Deck by Deck, is available now! Please leave an Amazon review to help with the algorithm! Ep 209Questions & Books

E

Since our deck of the week, Moon Baby Tarot, fell through, this episode is about a pair of questions we got from a listener recently who is going through some big life and job transitions...and keep listening if you're here for a smol little rant about the first non-fiction book Holly has read in a long time. Also keep your ears out in the episode if you're wondering what book we want to write and publish next! Ep 208Pacific Northwest Tarot

E

Ready, Set, Bake! This is our accidental croissant bake-a-long episode, so if you're in the mood (and have laminated dough on hand) bake with Holly as you listen! Our first question is two-fold asking how we read two cards in conjunction with each other and what is blocking our querent from being confident in their tarot readings. Our second question is about our querent supporting their sister and what Justice means in the context of her fertility journey. The deck of the episode is the Pacific Northwest Tarot by Brendan Marnell. We had Brendan on the pod during the Kickstarter campaign and you can listen to that episode here or scroll all the way back to Jun 14th, 2021! The finished product is so much more glorious that we ever would have anticipated and (since she is writing the show notes) Esther can confidently say it is now one of her favorite decks to work with. Our book, The History of Tarot Art: Demystifying the Art and Arcana, Deck by Deck, is available now! Please leave an Amazon review to help with the algorithm! E

From start to finish, this episode just has a lot of MRX energy, so buckle up for the chaotic ride you're about to go on! Ep 205Yuletide Tales Lenormand

E

When at first you can't think of banter, just start talking until something comes to mind...and then continue talking about it for like 20 minutes! We get real passionate about the AITA for giving my coworker a fantasy novel for Secret Santa to try to broaden her horizons? post. The first question of the episode comes with a content warning about death and the use of an illegal substance but it is a perfect question for our unintentional Yule/Christmas themed episode. Our second question involves our querent asking about their life transition and when they should start putting themselves "out there" again. Our deck of the episode is Yuletide Tales Lenormand which we have literally been waiting to review for an entire year! While it is a deck we have used throughout the entire year, it is the perfect addition to your collection if you're wanting to add some Christmas Spice to your deck life. Ep 203The Starchild Tarot

E

HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY to The History of Tarot Art: Demystifying the Art and Arcana, Deck by Deck! It has been a year in the making and release day is finally here! If you haven't already ordered a copy of our book, you can do so now at your fave book retailer and also remember it makes a great Christmas gift so add it to your wishlist! Our first question of the episode asks what to do when a deck you really love is really difficult to read as a beginner. The second asks about a thruple of cards that keep following our querent around and we dig a little deeper using tarot to get to the bottom of what they mean. The deck of the episode is Starchild Tarot (Akashic Edition)! We swear we've reviewed Danielle Noel's Tarot book in the past (because we both love it) but of course we cannot find any trace of the episode where we gushed about it. Finally though, here is an episode dedicated to reviewing one of their decks and we couldn't be any more excited! Remember to email us any questions you have about "The History of Tarot Art" by December 6th so that we can feature them in our special FAQ episode!! Ep 202When Readings Go Awry

E

In our previous episode, we had a question from our listener, Janesse, that went off the rails and we promised that if there was a significant update that we would release the recording in its entirety and then talk about the reading retrospectively. Well here it is in all of its chaotic glory! We also decide to share the most adorable and 'Laugh Out Loud' listener submitted update/email we've ever received! We so appreciate all of the love and support that everyone has been showing us since returning to our normal scheduled episode releases! There is no deck review this week, but remember to submit any questions you have about "The History of Tarot Art" by December 6th so that we can feature them in our special FAQ episode! Ep 201Tarot of Oppositions

E

Welcome to Wildly Lounging Podcast? We banter on for far too long about our love of all things bed, so get all cozy and ready for gushing about our best friend, bed. Our first question of the episode is an update and a continuation of a reading we did a few months ago where the Tower card appeared in the context of a job situation. For our second question, in a Wildly Tarot first, Holly nor Esther agreed on the interpretation of the cards that were presented which resulted in an interesting (albeit temporary) resolution. Whew! The Full Moon is working overtime in this episode to create chaos!! Our deck of the week is Tarot of Oppositions Cards by Pierluca Zizzi and Michele D'Aloisio that surprisingly has more WTF cards than anyone anticipated. Ep 199The Carnival at the End of the World Tarot

E

To open the episode, we geek out about Galaxy Quest (only the best comedy/scifi movie of all time!), when Holly tells Esther about her visit to the Museum of Pop Culture! The first question from our querent asks what to do about the disappointment, discouragement, and coping emotionally with their journey in wanting to conceive a child. Our second questions asks Holly and Esther their beliefs about tarot, if it has powers, and how to trust in something again after being betrayed so deeply by Christianity. Our deck of the week is the curious carnivalesque themed tarot, Carnival at the End of the World by Kahn + Selesnick. We talk about why we have avoided this deck for so long, but why it has quickly become a fave (for Esther) after receiving it and working with it in person. Laetitia has their Carnival at the End of the World Tarot Class starting in April, so be sure to check it out if you want to dive deep into the curious world Kahn + Selesnick! Ep 198Rana George Lenormand

E

Esther dives straight into a 90 Day Fiancé and Tarot convo with Holly. We also discuss how a certain Minotaur book has impacted our listeners and how we've started a Discord book club if you want to join us in a read-a-long! Our first question for the episode is us discussing a reading reversals question that we've had before but that hasn't come up in awhile so we revisited to see if anything has changed. Our second question is asking about clarification of why a 4 of Cups could be following our querent around as a strength in their life. Our deck of the episode is the Rana George Lenormand, Esther's workhorse Lenny deck! (FINALLY someone appreciates bed as much as we do!) Our book, The History of Tarot Art: Demystifying the Art and Arcana, Deck by Deck, is available for pre-order! Ep 197Real Talk Tarot

E

In this episode, we start off by talking about the truly WILD Mercury Retrograde everyone is experiencing then a secondary banter sneaks in after our first question, so gird your loins because we have *thoughts* about reality TV shows! Our first question of the episode asks follow up questions to a reading we did a few months ago (last year? pandemic time is weird) and our second question asks about some ideas of what to do for a card of the day that isn't predictive in nature. Our deck of the episode is a fresh take on tarot in a modern surrealist lens, Real Talk Tarot, by Juanita Londoño Gaviria. Ep 196Tyldwick Tarot

E

Because of a re-scheduling, Esther and Holly are a bit punch drunk this episode so prepare yourselves! Our first question of the episode is our querent asking about adult friendships and our second question asks about previous comments we've made about the religion of Wicca. Our deck of the episode is the pinnacle autumnal secret garden deck, Tyldwick Tarot by the late Neil Lovell of Malpertuis whose legacy is being carried on by his brother, Joe. We absolutely love and adore everything from this creator and this is reflected in our abundance of fangirling over the deck.
