To live your true calling requires you to maintain right relationship with power—your power and the power of others. Like the captain of a ship that get’s the navigation off by half a degree, it is possible to live your life and never arrive at the port of your true calling. Just like that captain, you can’t blame the storms and unexpected seas for never getting your ship to where you need to go. How you deal with other people’s power is as important as learning to accurately and passionately mobilize with your own. With our contemporary focus on fame, fortune, and happiness as the markers for success we are looking the wrong way. Our true calling is a path of mastery, which requires that each of us discover the right use of our will.
