The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) approved a resolution calling on the U.S. government to end all aid to Israel if Israel does not stop building settlements and “enable an independent Palestinian state." Voting at its triennial assembly in New Orleans that ended recently, the church also sought a halt to all investment in companies that profit from Israel’s occupation and called on the president of the United States to recognize the State of Palestine. The ELCA has joined several other mainline Christian denominations in calling for a just and peaceful resolution to the Israel/Palestine conflict. It should be obvious to an honest observer that the United States has a war based economy that needs creditable enemies to keep the war machine well oiled. With the continued demonetization of Vladimir Putin and Russia, is the US trying to provoke a hot war with Russia? The two articles mentioned in the program are "America's Biggest of All Big Lies. Neo-Christianity is defined as a reinterpretation of Christianity in terms of a current philosophy. The Neo-Christian movement is dominated by Christian Zionism, that is the largest Christian sect in America, whose belief system has been formalized within the last 110 years. Chuck Carlson analyzes a curious interview with Erik Prince, founder of the infamous mercenary army, Blackwater Worldwide, in a neocon publication, Breitbart. Recall that numerous Blackwater "security guards" have been tried and convicted for killing innocent civilians in places like Iraq. Now, Prince is all concerned about the fate of Christians in the Middle East while demonizing Muslims. Conveniently, Prince makes no mention of the culpability of the US and its allies in the wars they created in the Middle East, and, the resulting blowback from them that is affecting innocent Christians and Muslims in the region. US presidential candidates, without the blessings of AIPAC (American Israeli Public Affairs Committee) don't have a prayer of winning in the general elections. Front runners Hilary Clinton, Sen. Ted Cruz and Donald Trump understand this and delivered their "pledges of allegiance to Israel" speeches to the 18,000 delegates assembled at the recently held AIPAC convention in Washington, DC. Sen. Bernie Sanders was the noticeable exception. as he had declined the invitation from AIPAC to speak. Instead, he delivered some critical remarks, while on the campaign trail in Utah, about Israel's destructive policies against the Palestinians. Senator Marco Rubio, another War Party presidential candidate, has dropped out of the 2016 race for the next President of the United States, who will, no doubt, lead America into another disastrous war. In reality, the U.S. only has one party. That group would be the War Party, with two branches that squabble over non lethal issues...the Democrat Party and the Republican Party. We get wars with either party. When Sen. Marco Rubio spoke at a Christian Zionist college in Phoenix, We Hold These Truths joined in with some anti-war protestors to ask questions like, "Who Would Jesus Bomb?" - "Blessed Are The Peacemakers" - "Choose Life Not War" - "No More Wars for Israel." Mark Horton looks into the definition of the word "faith" that is introduced in this section of Hebrews. What are the nuances of the statement: "Now faith is the sustance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen." 29 mins.

This inspiring and remarkable 22 min. documentary is about Father Elias Chacour, a man of peace and reconciliation, and, the schools he started in Ibillin, Israel, in the Galilee region. Father Chacour is an Arab citizen of Israel. The Mar Elias Schools have over 3000 students and teachers that include Christians, Jews and Muslims. Father Chacour's schools have become a shining example and a beacon of hope in a land full of strife and despair.

Christians in the United States are divided on what the word "Israel" means. Christian Zionists think of the modern state of Israel as the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy requiring obsequious obedience to it no matter how it mistreats its Palestinian occupants. Other Christians think of modern Israel as a secular, apostate country in the Middle East who took its name from an ancient person, Israel (whose original name was Jacob), a tribe named Israel, or Israel, the northern kingdom that was divided from the other Hebrews in Judah. Reporter Mehdi Hasan challenges Israel's narrative that they no longer occupy the Gaza strip. Mehdi argues that Israel still controls Gaza's borders, airspace and territorial waters. He also points to the fact Israel controls the population register, meaning the government defines who is and who is not a resident of Gaza. Israel says it no longer occupies Gaza after disengaging from the strip of land in 2005. But Palestinians, international organizations, human rights groups and governments, including the United States, argue Gaza is still occupied. Be sure you spread this video far and wide.

A report on the 'promised land'" that questions the "Divine Right" of Israel.

Craig joined with anti-war activists from Code Pink, Occupy San Francisco and The World Can't Wait, who wanted to challenge the discriminatory practices by Christian Zionist outfits, like Christians United For Israel (CUFI) that unconditionally support wars to protect Israel, advocate peace and justice only for Jewish residents of Israel, while ignoring the plight of Palestinians, even Christian Palestinians. In this 13 minute zinger, Chuck Carlson of We Hold These Truths talks about a very significant resolution for an academic boycott of Israeli academic institutions that was passed by a 9 to 1 majority at the recent American Anthropological Association's annual meeting in Denver, CO. Chuck and members of Coloradans for Justice in Palestine were asked to educate and lobby the delegates on the Palestinian issue.
