Wholistic Hearts Statement of Faith
trailerWelcome to Wholistic Hearts Podcast Here on Wholistic Hearts, I think it’s important for me to state the foundation of what I share hear on the podcast. This has been adapted to be personal to me but is the same beliefs as Bethel Church in Redding, CA. I believe in the Trinity- The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. There is only one true God who is the King of Kings, Creator, and Redeemer of all. He is better than we think. Always in a good mood. He is the pinnacle of 1 Corinthians 13- Love himself. He is and always will be. I believe that the Bible is God-breathed and the Word of God. I believe it is infallible. I believe that each person has been created in the image of God to enjoy Him and delight in Him. I believe we have all been given a choice to follow Him. I believe Jesus was born through the virgin Mary and is the Messiah empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God’s kingdom here on earth. Jesus died for our sin, was buried and resurrected and ascended into heaven and is now alive today in the presence of God the Father and in His people. I believe we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repentance, belief, and receiving Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, and adopts us as we enter the kingdom of God as His sons and daughters. I believe in the ongoing and sanctifying power of Holy Spirit according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4; it is poured out on believers that they might have God’s power to be His witnesses. I believe in the victorious, redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy- sin, lies, sickness, and torment. I believe the church is the Bride of Christ- those who put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ. I believe in the power of communion and baptism. I believe the Body of Jesus is used to advance teh Kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, using our voices to preach and declare of God’s Good News- His love. I believe in discipling people all over the world to encounter Jesus, Holy Spirit, and the Father. I believe in the power of our imagination as a place to offer to Holy Spirit to sanctify and create. I believe in the power of the communing with God through Holy Spirit by prayer, meditation, encounters, Scripture, art, music, worship, writing, etc. I believe Jesus will return as He is our Blessed Hope. He is our Bridegroom. He will visibly return to rule and reign with His overcoming bride- The Church. I believe heaven and hell are real places. I believe there will be a resurrection of the lost and the saved, the one to everlasting death and the other to everlasting life.

206. How Do You Do a "Quiet Time?"
If you’ve ever wondered when or how to have a quiet time, or where to even begin reading the Bible, you’re not alone. It’s one of those questions that can feel overwhelming, but the good news is—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Kristin shares her personal approach to quiet time and Bible reading, reminding us that this isn’t about following a rigid formula—it’s about a relationship. This is between you and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit will guide you. That’s the gift we’ve been given. The way you read the Bible might look completely different from someone else’s, and that’s okay. What matters is that you’re spending time in the Word in a way that connects with you. This isn’t about getting it “right.” It’s an invitation to step into God’s presence, however that looks for you. And if your quiet time needs a refresh? There are so many ways to revamp it—new study tools, different approaches, or even just shifting your mindset from obligation to opportunity. Wherever you are in your journey, know this: the Holy Spirit will meet you there. 202. More Than Enough Hebrews 12:1-2 (Part 1)
Have you ever heard that voice in your head that says, "I am too much." "I am too little." "I can't do this." You are not along my friend. On this episode, I share how we can break free from this common narrative through bringing it to our trustworthy Jesus and allowing Him to take hold of the things that burden our minds. Through looking in depth at Hebrews 12:1-2, I hope you are encouraged to pause, reflect, exchange, and get that pep talk from your one and only, Coach Jesus, to run your perfectly designed race before you. In the episode, I encourage you to take some action. Here are some suggestions: Journal Prompts: What are some areas in your heart that are needing tending to this today or this week? What are some thoughts that may be a heavy load? What's an area you feel the pull to believe the lies of “too much or too little” or “it’s too much or we don’t have enough.” Write it out. Encounter Jesus: Imagine being at YOUR race. Is it a running race? mountain bike race? Something unique to you. Picture Jesus as your Coach. What is He wearing? Where is He standing? What is He doing? Who are the "cloud of witnesses" surrounding you and cheering you on? What are you laying down with Jesus so that you can run your race with less of a burden? 186. Deep Waters- Jenny Luning
Kristin takes a journey into deeper waters alongside her good friend, Jenny. As they delved into their discussion, it became clear that deep waters represent the ongoing reliance on our faith. 179. Deep Waters: God Speaks Through Dreams
Hey friends, you’re in for a treat in today’s episode. I’m sitting down with my incredible friend Margaux, the host of Breathing Underwater: A Dream Interpretation Podcast. Through her journey, she discovered that dreams serve as a means of divine communication, allowing God to speak, guide, and provide valuable insights. God skillfully employs these symbols to capture our attention and convey profound truths. Margaux also sheds light on the ways in which God speaks through dreams. She encouraged listeners to ask God what He is bringing up in their dreams, exploring the deeper meanings behind the symbolism presented. She explained metaphors play a significant role in dream interpretation, and it becomes less intimidating when we bring these metaphors to God. Margaux emphasized the importance of inviting God into the realm of dreams, seeking His wisdom and guidance. She encouraged individuals to ask God to speak to them through their dreams and to turn to scripture when deciphering symbolic representations. She is a vessel for those seeking a deeper understanding of the profound world of dream interpretation. Listen to Breathing Underwater Want to plug into our free Facebook community? S1 Ep 174174. An Encounter- Laying Down Our Weapons of Self Sabotage in Exchange for the Armor of God
Hey friend, I don't know about you but sometimes I am my own worst enemy. I have picked up my own weapons of self-defense which have turned into weapons of self sabotage. Today I want to walk you through a time with Jesus to exchange our old dull thought patterns which are hurting our hearts in exchange for the freedom and empowering glory of His armor. Grab a journal. Grab a pen. Sit in a quiet space and dig into the truth of His word over you. As always, please feel free to reach out for prayer inside of our FB group, with a friend, a counselor, or spiritual mentor or pastor. Jesus wants you to walk in your KINGDOM identity. Anchoring Scriptures: Isaiah 54: 17 No weapon formed against me shall prosper. 2 Corinthians 10: 3-6 For although we live in the natural realm, we don’t wage a military campaign employing human weapons, using manipulation to achieve our aims. Instead, our spiritual weapons are energized with divine power to effectively dismantle the defenses behind which people hide. 5We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. 6Since we are armed with such dynamic weaponry, we stand ready to punish any trace of rebellion, as soon as you choose complete obedience. Ephesians 6: 11-16 11Put on God’s complete set of armor provided for us, so that you will be protected as you fight against the evil strategies of the accuser! 12Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage. 13Because of this, you must wear all the armor that God provides so you’re protected as you confront the slanderer, for you are destined for all things and will rise victorious. 14Put on truth as a belt to strengthen you to stand in triumph. Put on holiness as the protective armor that covers your heart. 15Stand on your feet alert, then you’ll always be ready to share the blessings of peace. 16In every battle, take faith as your wrap-around shield, for it is able to extinguish the blazing arrows coming at you from the evil one! 17-18Embrace the power of salvation’s full deliverance, like a helmet to protect your thoughts from lies. And take the mighty razor-sharp Spirit-sword of the spoken word of God. Romans 13:12 1Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let him fill you with excitement as you serve him. 12Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times. Love what we are doing here on Wholistic Hearts, here are three ways to help us spread this Good News Share with a friend! S1 Ep 169169. Matthew 8:1-3 Being Seen in Our Weakness
Walking through the Book of Matthew Matthew 8: 1-3 When he came down from the mountain, large crowds followed him. 2 Right away a man with leprosy[a] came up and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 3 Reaching out his hand, Jesus touched him, saying, “I am willing; be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. This man must have felt so ashamed yet knew the powerful way Jesus could heal him. Like a child who gets hurt on the playground and runs immediately to their parent to get comfort, so are we invited to run to the Father and to Jesus for comfort and healing.
