For one couple, pulling up floorboards and tearing down wallpaper reveals the history of their new home’s original owner- a whaling captain who left his name hidden in unexpected places throughout the house. In some ways, his presence is still very much felt, as if he never left the house. Then again, maybe…he didn’t.
