Maurice Ravel’s attitude towards the past can inspire us to look at the present with very different eyes. In ‘Le Tombeau de Couperin’ the French composer transports our imagination to a forgotten world of beauty and taste, allowing us to wonder: what is the meaning of beauty? And, is beauty just an appearance?
In today’s episode I will focus on the Minuet from the Suite for piano ‘Le Tombeau de Couperin’ trying to connect the dots on why for some of us might be important to look at the past, particularly a classical one.
