Bio: Akhil Patel was born in New Jersey and raised in Tampa, Florida. He earned his medical degree at the University of Florida at Shands Hospital. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of South Florida. While there, he worked at Moffitt Cancer Center, James A. Haley VA Hospital, and Tampa General Hospital.
Dr. Patel has earned many awards and held numerous leadership positions in local and national medical committees. He has practiced throughout Florida - West Palm Beach, The Villages, Leesburg, Ocala, and Tavares. He is currently in Sarasota, Florida where he manages medical clinics that focus on senior care. His aim is to disrupt low-income health care for seniors. In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys sailing, golfing and playing tennis.
