As Jim Crockett Promotions headed to the Great American Bash 1988, they were pulling out all the stops (good and bad) to set up Ric Flair vs. Lex Luger for the NWA World Heavyweight Title at the Baltimore Arena. It would be the final year of JCP, as within six months they would sell to Turner Broadcasting.
