In a bid to transform the traditionally complex and costly site review processes in the construction sector, Matterport, Inc. (Nasdaq: MTTR) has announced an integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud. The collaboration aims to streamline the "Request for Information" (RFI) process in Autodesk Build by utilizing Matterport's digital twin technology. Construction projects often face challenges due to project inaccuracies or misunderstandings between stakeholders, leading to costly delays and rework. The typical RFI process, which involves construction and design teams labeling issues directly onto documents or images, can be time-consuming and often results in inaccuracies. In fact, according to research, inaccurate or incomplete documentation is responsible for an estimated 48% of rework in the US construction industry.
