Show Open: The Red Sox dumped their best player after playing themselves back into playoff position so they could shed salary. The relationship between Devers and the Red Sox had grown sour because of mismanagement by the Red Sox GM and Manager, plus they never shopped Devers across the league. This feels very reminiscent of the old Mets ways.
