The way the Yankees went out, on their own field, was embarrassing. The combination of Gerrit Cole not covering first, and Anthony Rizzo not hustling to first was horrendous. Cole was pitching so great. Rizzo gave a speech to the team the game before. Gio is defending Rizzo for fielding a ball that was spinning in a very odd way and he wanted to make sure he secured the ball. Your $36 million man can’t even cover first base.
