Alex was amper 15 toen Marcel Vanthilt in 1987 zijn debuut bij MTV maakte en net zoals zoveel generatiegenoten werd ook Alex in die periode muzikaal gevormd door het fenomeen MTV. Doorheen de jaren zat Alex geregeld bij Marcel aan tafel in diverse TV programma’s dus werd het stilaan eens tijd om de rollen om te draaien.
