Show Notes

The jostling for inclusion at the 2026 Commonwealth Games has ramped up after confirmation Glasgow will step in as host.

A lite edition of the event featuring 10 sports will be staged at four existing venues.

Swimming and athletics are guaranteed with netball, sevens and track cycling looking odds on, given the stadia selected.

Silver Ferns Coach Dame Noeline Taurua joined Piney for a chat about the importance of netball’s inclusion in the Games.

“For us, it's, it is very important because it's counted as a pinnacle event for us – we don't have the opportunity to go to the Olympics.”
