Ben Ruthe: Sam Ruthe's father on his son becoming the youngest in history to break the four-minute mile

Kiwi middle-distance prodigy Sam Ruthe has made history.

The 15-year-old is the youngest person to break the four-minute mile barrier, and the 49th New Zealander to do so.

His dad, Ben, is also an accomplished middle-distance runner and he joined Piney to discuss his son's journey

“I would have thought that this was not something that was possible for anybody on the planet.”
