The US government has intensified efforts to capture Ruja Ignatova, also known as the "Crypto Queen," who allegedly orchestrated the OneCoin cryptocurrency scam that defrauded investors of billions of dollars. Prosecutors have charged Ignatova with wire fraud, securities fraud, and money laundering. The FBI added her to its Ten Most Wanted list and announced a $100,000 reward for information leading to her arrest. Authorities believe Ignatova might be hiding in Eastern Europe and possibly undergoing surgical procedures to alter her appearance. OneCoin, which began in 2014, claimed to offer a cryptocurrency and educational package but operated as a Ponzi scheme, resulting in substantial financial losses for investors.
