AI startup valuations continue to rise, driven by significant investor interest and substantial funding rounds. OpenAI recently raised $6.6 billion, increasing its valuation to approximately $157 billion, nearly doubling its previous valuation of $80 billion earlier this year. Despite consistent financial losses, expectations of future earnings keep revenue multiples high. Other AI startups, including xAI, Perplexity, and Anthropic, are also pursuing new funding. xAI aims for $5 billion in funding that could raise its valuation to $45 billion, following a $6 billion round earlier this year. Anthropic seeks funding at valuations between $30 billion and $40 billion, crediting a prior valuation of $18.5 billion. Perplexity plans to negotiate new funding that could increase its valuation from $3 billion to $8 billion.
