Venture funding in Asia reached $13.2 billion in the third quarter, marking a ten-year low. This figure indicates a 13% decrease from the previous quarter and a 44% decline compared to last year. A total of 1,509 deals occurred, representing an 8% decline from the last quarter and a 23% drop from the same period last year. Funding for AI startups totaled $2.1 billion, down 20% from the previous quarter. Late-stage funding saw a significant drop to $5.8 billion, a 30% decline from the second quarter and 62% from last year. Early-stage funding amounted to $5.6 billion, reflecting a 12% increase from the previous quarter but still a 17% decrease from last year. Seed funding decreased by 9% to $1.8 billion, despite a 6% increase compared to the same time last year. Regionally, China raised $6 billion, down 19% from the last quarter and 61% from last year, while Japan's startups raised $1.3 billion, a 95% increase from Q2. Globally, venture funding experienced a 16% decline quarter-over-quarter.
