Global venture capital funding reached $32 billion in October 2024, the highest monthly investment for startups this year. The surge stemmed from significant investments in artificial intelligence, data centers, and energy. OpenAI raised $6.6 billion, making it a significant player with a valuation of $157 billion. Other notable investments included GDS International, with $1 billion, and Pacific Fusion, which secured over $900 million. More than half of the funding rounds in October exceeded $100 million, with 50 companies spanning sectors like AI, biotech, and fintech receiving large investments. AI led the funding with $12.2 billion, followed by healthcare and biotech at $5.6 billion. Early-stage funding totaled $10.9 billion, while seed funding remained steady at $2.8 billion across over 1,000 companies. Late-stage funding showed significant growth, exceeding $18 billion but remained flat year over year.
