Solana's validator income, known as maximal extractible value (MEV), has surpassed that of Ethereum due to an increase in traders and the use of a protocol named Jito. Jito helps arrange transactions into clusters, incentivizing validators to prioritize certain bundles over others. This increase in MEV is not definitively beneficial, as it could introduce predatory practices. However, it could also reduce spam, which has been a problem for Solana, with over 60% of non-vote transactions failing due to bots exploiting the network's low fees.
