Nuro, a developer of autonomous driving technology, raised $106 million in its Series E funding round, valuing the company at $6 billion. This represents a decline from its previous valuation of $8.6 billion in 2021 after a $600 million Series D round led by Tiger Global Management. Nuro has experienced challenges, including workforce reductions and a shift in strategy from delivery vehicles to licensing software. The current funding round includes investors such as Tiger Global and T. Rowe Price Associates. Nuro plans to announce details about strategic investors soon. Founded in 2016, Nuro has raised a total of $2.2 billion. Funding in the autonomous driving sector reached $12.6 billion last year but dropped to $5.9 billion in 2023, with a significant contribution to the previous year’s total coming from a $5.6 billion round led by Waymo.
