In August 2024, eight new companies reached unicorn status, adding a total of twenty-five billion dollars in value to the Unicorn Board. Six of these companies are based in the U.S., while two are from China and India. Yinwang Smart Technology, a subsidiary of Huawei, achieved a valuation of sixteen billion dollars, making it the second-highest new unicorn valuation this year. The Unicorn Board has seen a year-to-date total of one hundred fifty-two billion dollars contributed by seventy-nine new unicorns as of September 12, 2024. In 2023, ninety-nine companies joined the board with a collective valuation of one hundred seventy-six billion dollars. The new unicorns span various sectors, including transportation, Web3, AI, privacy, security, agtech, sales and marketing, and real estate. Notable companies include Ather Energy, Story Protocol, Codeium, Kiteworks, Agrovision, DevRev, EliseAI, and Fei-Fei Li’s World Labs.
