Crypto-focused bank, Anchorage Digital is collaborating with Arca Labs to drive institutional participation in tokenization by providing custody for shares of a tokenized Treasury fund. Arca Labs issued shares of its US Treasury Fund as digital asset securities, known as ArCoin, in 2021, which potentially could replace US Treasurys in business operations and increase transparency while decreasing costs. Anchorage meets the criteria for the Securities and Exchange Commission’s definition of a “qualified custodian,” making it possible for institutions to access tokenized shares on its platform. The partnership aims to promote compliance with US regulatory standards and improve security through the use of hardware security modules.
