If you think Barbie and Ken are scary, you should check out the flourishing haunted doll market on the internet. Vendors on Ebay and Etsy are selling dolls that are allegedly inhabited by spirits: some positive in nature, others more cursed. There’s haunted dolls you might already know about, such as Annabelle, and Robert the Doll who was actually the inspiration for Chucky. There’s also an island near Mexico City called Isla de las Muñecas aka Island of the Dead Dolls that is full of possessed dolls. Turns out dolls aren’t only for kids. We also asked haunted doll shop owner Nancy what exactly makes a doll haunted.
