Ella Al-Shamahi is a National Geographic Explorer, palaeoanthropologist, evolutionary biologist, author and stand-up comic. An expert in her field, Ella specialises in Neanderthals and caves, working almost exclusively in places it is hard to get insurance, such as Iraq, Yemen and Nagorno-Karabakh.
