New signings caught the eye, Jarrod Bowen got his first goal with the captain's armband on and West Ham got their first clean sheet since January - against a London rival who James has a particular dislike for.
Despite the win being the first in a new era for the club, it was one of the old guard in Tomas Soucek that put in a huge performance in midfield and was again on the scoresheet (even rescuing a ball boy for bonus brownie points). Is about time our criminally underrated Czech Mate gets the credit he deserves?
And how long does Konstantinos Mavropanos and Michail Antonio remain in the starting XI amid new boys Jean-Clair Todibo and Niclas Fullkrug pushing for starts?
