We discuss Cam Adebayo’s 83-point game, which ranks second all-time behind Wilt Chamberlain and ahead of Kobe Bryant's 81-point performance. While we acknowledge the impressive shooting, including six three-pointers, we express concerns about the 43 free throws attempted and question whether the referees' calls and intentional fouls by the opposing team at the end of the game artificially inflated the final score. We believe Kobe had to earn his 81 points more legitimately, and we suggest the 83-point record should come with an asterisk.
