The WCNC Charlotte Weather Impact Team had issued a Weather Alert for Monday through Thursday due to the threat of extreme heat.
Between Monday and Thursday, peak heat index values will near 102 degrees, if not higher. Regardless of the heat index, highs will peak in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees, with the most intense heat between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
