Single ticket wins Powerball's record-breaking $2.04 billion jackpot: Wednesday, Nov. 9

After 40 consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner, someone has finally won the $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot. One ticket sold in California won the jackpot. According to the California Lottery, it was purchased at Joe’s Service Center in Altadena. That ticketholder isn't the only winner — 22 tickets matched the five white balls to win $1 million. One player in Florida added the Power Play and won $2 million. The tickets worth $1 million were sold in California, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, Massachusetts, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, Washington, Georgia, Maryland, Oregon and Texas. The news follows a dramatic night for Powerball — the Monday drawing was delayed by 10 hours as game officials scrambled to deal with a processing issue in one state. It couldn't commence until all 48 participating lotteries submitted their sales and play data. After the drawing took place, the Minnesota Lottery confirmed it had been the state that caused the delay.
