A search is underway for an Albemarle teen's remains as police believe she is dead.

The Albemarle Police Department said officers responded to a home along Floral Drive at 4:30 a.m. Friday after getting a 9-1-1 call from someone asking for help. The department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation said their inquiry led them to determine that 17-year-old Baylee Carver had died.

According to court documents, investigators believe Biles moved Carver's body from a Floral Drive home and hid it. They also say Carver's body had "obvious wounds indicating an unnatural death." As the search for the victim's remains continues, investigators have not explained how they knew her body had wounds. Charlotte city workers rallied outside Monday's City Council meeting, demanding officials make raising their salaries a priority. The workers say their current paychecks aren't keeping up with the cost of living and they don't feel appreciated despite providing essential services for the city of Charlotte. Destiny Richards has the latest on what those workers told city leaders and how things will move forward as the Queen City's next budget is calculated.
