The Charlotte Fire Department said its crews were assisting Mecklenburg County units with the fire, which is now under control.

One firefighter was taken to a hospital and another was treated at the scene after crews responded to a house fire in Steele Creek early Friday morning.
It happened in the area of Buckie Court, not far from the Piedmont Prairie Trail at the McDowell Nature Preserve.
