Authorities caught a convicted murderer on Friday morning after his escape led to a multiple-day manhunt.
Ramone Alston, 30, was arrested in a Kannapolis hotel early Friday morning.
The operation included FBI Charlotte SWAT agents, Kannapolis Police and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
He had escaped in Orange County while authorities were taking him to the UNC Hospitals Hillsborough campus. Alston was wearing handcuffs connected to a belly chain with a black box over the junction at the time.
