Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) officials announced Sunday they will implement enhanced communication protocols regarding school threats, following recent incidents in the district.

The new standardized procedures, set to take effect Monday, March 10, will ensure consistent reporting of threats across all schools in the district, according to CMS Chief Communications Officer Shanna Spickard.

The district released a video to parents on Sunday outlining the new policy.
