In a year marked by rising public concerns about teen violence and a recent string of crimes in Uptown Charlotte, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) is set to deliver its 2025 Mid-Year Public Safety Report Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Command Center of the Law Enforcement Center in Uptown.

While city residents continue to seek answers and solutions to recent incidents involving youth violence and brazen acts near Charlotte’s business and entertainment districts, CMPD officials point to encouraging trends in the first quarter of the year — particularly a significant drop in violent crime.
