CMPD: 1 dead, 1 hurt after Steele Creek shooting | Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023
One person has died and another was injured after a shooting in Steele Creek, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. It happened along the South Carolina border, on Long Talon Way near Steele Creek Road. Around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the area after reports that shots had been fired. When officers arrived, they found two people who had been shot. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was taken to an area hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. CMPD also found an occupied home that had been shot into, but nobody inside that home had been hit.
