
1 dead, multiple hurt after school bus overturns on I-77
Lexington District 2 issued a statement saying the students were traveling home from a field trip in Charlotte when a tire blew out, causing the driver to lose control.

At least one person was killed after a serious crash involving a school bus on Interstate 77 in Chester County, South Carolina.
The crash happened just before 2 p.m. near exit 55 on southbound I-77. There were multiple students on the bus, according to an official. One of the people on the bus died while the rest of the occupants were taken to the hospital. The age of the deceased person has not been released.
Multiple crews responded to the scene, including multiple helicopters. WCNC Charlotte saw an Atrium Health chopper leaving the scene, heading toward Charlotte. The crash happened about 40 miles south of Charlotte.
