ALICE Training Institute shares some startling facts about workplace violence from the Bureau of Labor Statistics - In the past decade, from 2003-2013 there have been 8,987 violent acts resulting in death at the workplace and 51% of these have been gun related. Even if you are the perfect co-worker and shower everyone with kindness and respect, you still may face a potentially deadly situation at work since nearly 80% of workplace homicides don't have anything to do with the workplace at all. With more and more stories of workplace violence, mass shootings and homegrown radicalized terrorist attacks hitting our news feed every morning, it's time to seriously consider being prepared for the worst no matter where you are, even if it means carrying a gun into a gun free zone. Today we discuss the pros and cons of deciding to carry a gun into the most common gun free zone most people will face on a daily basis - the workplace. We are back in front of the mic after a short break.
