The Washington Nationals are banking on their young hitters, CJ Abrams, James Wood, and Dylan Crews, to turn around their offensive struggles from last season. Crews, 24, showed potential in college but has been inconsistent, batting .208 with 10 home runs last year and just 2 hits in 16 at-bats this spring. Wood, 25, had a strong first half in 2025 with 23 homers but struggled in the second half with 221 strikeouts and is currently batting .091 in spring training. With a new hitting coach, the team is focusing on patience at the plate for both players, as their development could determine the Nationals success in the 2026 season.
