The ceremony, following Hindu traditions, included prayers for the perpetrator, Mamtas father, Chhatra Thapa. Mamta, a dedicated nurse, had declined an extra shift to drive her father to work, a decision that led her back home to the tragedy. Her one-year-old son is now left without a mother or grandmother.
