Show Notes
BA.3.2, or Cicada, a new COVID variant, emerged in South Africa in November 2024, spreading to at least 23 countries by February 2026. The first U.S. case was detected in June 2025, identified through CDCs airport screening. With 70-75 mutations in its spike protein, it may evade antibodies from past infections or vaccines. CDC is closely monitoring its spread, so stay updated on their site for the latest information.
