The Washington Commanders, after a busy free agency start, are now focusing on smart, low-cost additions for their cornerback group. With several key players lost, theyve signed twelve new players and kept some backups, but still need depth. Theyve released Marshon Lattimore, saw Noah Igbinoghene join the Seattle Seahawks, and lost Jonathan Jones to the Philadelphia Eagles. The only veteran corner added so far is Amik Robertson. Martin Emerson Junior, a 2022 third-round pick out of Mississippi State, is a possible target. Despite a training camp Achilles injury, hes expected to return by summer training. Emersons size, reach, and skills in coverage and tackling could fit well with the Commanders, but there are injury risks and a medical check is needed.
