Wayne takes a break from his practice in preparation for the 2020 National Walleye Tour event out of Oconto, Wisconsin to chat on the podcast about his angling journey and the upcoming NWT season.  He shares about how he overcame a major health battle and decided to go all in with fishing tournaments.  Wayne has had incredible success during his fishing career which include a Masters Walleye Circuit and National Team Championship victory in 2013 on the St. Marys River, top 10 finishes in the National Walleye Tour, and multiple wins in the Michigan Walleye Tour.  Wayne encourages our listeners to pursue what they love to do and enjoy their life.

Let's kick off 2020 with a new practical series.  It doesn't always happen this way, but those who spend enough time on the water know that there are certain times where fine tuning color makes or breaks a trip.  On this episode Rob shares some practical tips to help you create custom color baits on the fly.  Also discussed are some suggestions for trying open water basin casting with rip baits.

Our late fall episode features Roy Miller of Fat Boy Jigs. Roy made the drive down from central Michigan to fish lake st. clair for the first time on Black Friday. Captain Dan Stewart of ChromeSeekers Sportfishing is the guest on this show. Dan has been a good friend of mine for years and is an extremely knowledgeable multi species guide. We chat about how his experiences guiding in Alaska and throughout the state of Michigan for salmon and trout has helped him better dissect the Detroit river and Lake St. Clair.

On this episode we're talking to Drake Herd, professional angler and owner of Renegade Outdoor Innovations.  Drake has a broad experience of fishing for walleyes all across the country.  In 2018, he took 6th place in the National Walleye Tour Championship on Lake of the Woods.  This same year he also locked down 2nd place in the inaugural Champion's Tour event on Mille Lacs Lake, missing the win by only a few ounces.  Drake has been part of the fishing tackle industry for years and is passionate about sharing the tournament angling lifestyle through social media and his work with Fish Addictions TV.

This month we talk about fishing Lake St. Clair in May with last year's May Madness Champion, Travis Bender.  Travis worked hard to put together a solid program which ended up paying big time on the day of the event.  By utilizing technology and remaining flexible to changing lake conditions, Travis won the event and caught a 31" giant walleye which propelled him into the number 1 spot.

This month we interview Roger Hinchcliff about river fishing and what goes into designing fishing rods. Roger is a multi-species angler who speaks in seminars across the country about steelhead fishing. He is also the founder of Steelhead Manifesto and is a rod designer for Lamiglas. We chat about the things we like to do increase our chances at catching more and better fish on the Detroit river while vertical jigging.
