S1 Ep 871Understanding tech vs. growth could make you massive gains in this market
The Federal Reserve is driving me crazy… A week after raising interest rates for the first time since 2018 by a measly 0.25%. Fed Chair Jerome Powell is trying to sound tough on inflation. But Daniel offers a different perspective… [0:35] The Fed needs to get its act together right away. I explain what it must do to keep inflation from getting completely out of hand. [7:40] Large-cap China stocks have rallied hard off their lows over the last week. Daniel highlights what's behind the move… and why it's a great trading opportunity. [9:25] Next, we review a Bloomberg article on how to deal with inflation—and poke fun at some of the truly ridiculous suggestions—like getting rid of your pets. [12:10] Nike (NKE) reported solid earrings this week, displaying its pricing power amid rising costs. But I still wouldn't buy this stock right now. S1 Ep 870A beaten-down sector ready to soar as interest rates rise
I kick off today with March Madness… and some of the best matchups for the rest of the tournament. Speaking of basketball… I just got back from my daughter's first traveling tournament. I shed some light on the increasing travel demand I'm seeing. [0:17] We all know inflation is causing prices to rise everywhere… And we should be prepared for them to soar even higher. [5:12] The Fed recently raised interest rates for the first time since 2018… but it remains well behind the curve fighting inflation. I break down Fed Chair Jerome Powell's terrible performance. [9:35] Sectors like the auto industry are struggling amid supply chain woes. I explain which sectors will continue to experience volatility… and which ones to watch for opportunities. [12:05] President Biden just signed a game-changing executive order for the crypto industry. I share how individual investors can make a fortune in digital assets over the coming years. [13:32] One sector has been unfairly punished in recent years… But as interest rates move higher, it's poised to reap the benefits. [17:38] Higher prices will cause consumers to change their spending habits… and you may need to restructure your portfolio… [20:45] Finally, I take a question about Disney (DIS). Long-term listeners know I'm bearish on this stock… Today, I explain what would cause me to change my tune. [24:26] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 868We'll see 10% inflation unless the Fed does this
The Federal Reserve wraps up its March meeting today and Chair Jerome Powell is expected to announce the first interest rate hike since 2018. Daniel gives his take on how the Fed should move forward from here… and why the volatility in oil gives the Fed some wiggle room. [0:30] The Fed is so far behind the curve on fighting inflation, it's a joke at this point… And if it doesn't take a certain set of actions… we'll end up seeing 10% inflation this year—or higher. [4:00] Next, we dive into an ethical question: Is it wrong to invest in Russia right now? [10:38] Turning to cryptocurrencies... Daniel and I debate the usefulness of President Biden's broad executive order calling for further analysis of the industry. (I believe it's a game-changer…) [20:48] Finally, movie theater company AMC recently made headlines by investing in a gold and silver mining company. S1 Ep 867What needs to happen for the market to bottom
March Madness is almost here! Today's podcast starts with my predictions… Some comments on Tom Brady's "unretirement"… and the unlucky fan who bought his final touchdown ball earlier this week. [0:20] Volatility is raging in 2022… I explain why the "superbull" market of recent years is over… and why the current environment is like nothing we've ever seen before. [1:45] The bull market in SPACs and meme stocks is dead… I highlight how younger investors are getting crushed in this market… and the implications for the crypto space. [8:00] Inflation is hitting everyone. I dig into the Fed's tough situation… why we're likely to see further downside in the market. [13:07] Next, I break down why fundamentals are useless right now… and highlight some examples of great companies getting hit in spite of their solid earnings results. [16:30] Lots of folks are wondering when we'll see a bottom in the current bear market. I explain what needs to happen before we see a new uptrend for stocks. [20:00] Lastly, everyone is feeling the pain in their portfolios. I share why Moneyflow Trader the best strategy to protect yourself AND generate gains when the market sells off. S1 Ep 866We need to produce more uranium—for the sake of our national security
Amir Adnani, founder, president, and CEO of Uranium Energy Corp. (UEC), is back on the podcast to discuss the bull market in commodities. Uranium prices are surging as the Russian-Ukraine war continues. Amir gives his take on the changing landscape for energy markets… why uranium is critical to our national security… and how UEC is positioned to benefit from higher uranium prices. [0:30] Speaking of which… Uranium prices are currently around $50 per pound… But Amir explains why we could quickly see this number reach $100 or higher… and the effects of higher uranium prices vs. higher oil prices on the economy. [15:05] U.S. utility companies are lobbying for sanction waivers to continue business with Russia… Amir is fired up and calls them out. [20:30] Turning to his company, Amir shares why UEC is in a position to become a global powerhouse in uranium production. [25:40] Finally, he breaks down why uranium is critical for industries like the military and space travel… and why we need to get back to our '70s roots when it comes to uranium production. S1 Ep 865Should you be allowed to invest in Russia?
I, Daniel, am leading the show today… and this episode is all about Russia. [0:30] JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs are catching the attention of politicians such as Elizabeth Warren over trading Russian bonds… I break down why—despite the bad perception for Wall Street—these banks aren't breaking any sanctions. [2:35] But what about Main Street? Should individual investors have the option to invest in Russia? [7:25] Several of the world's largest and most successful brands are cutting ties to Russia—including Coca-Cola, PayPal, PepsiCo, and McDonald's, to name a few. I highlight one step McDonald's is taking… that could create shareholder momentum. [12:15] If Russia's invasion of Ukraine ends, and the sanctions were removed… would Russia become a buying opportunity? [21:10] Enjoyed this episode? Ep 864The bull market in commodities is just getting started
We're in a crisis unlike any other in recent memory. I break down the massive volatility amid the Russia-Ukraine war… and the Fed's plans to raise interest rates. [0:30] Meanwhile, politics are helping send oil prices rocketing higher. Prepare for a rant... The situation goes to show how much—and how quickly—government policies can change the market landscape… as we've seen since Biden replaced Trump in office. [5:00] And there are several simple solutions to high oil prices the government is ignoring… [13:55] As politicians ramp up the economic sanctions on Russia, I name a few sectors that should see a lot of increased investment dollars. [22:40] And you definitely want exposure to commodities. I share some stats on why we're still in the early stages of this bull market. [26:45] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 863Kuppy: Oil and uranium could soar as high as…
Listener favorite Harris "Kuppy" Kupperman, chief investment officer at Praetorian Capital and author of Kuppy's Event Driven Monitor (KEDM), is back on the show today. We kick it off with a discussion of the economic sanctions placed on Russia. Are they enough, and what about the risks to global businesses? Kuppy explains why the situation could lead to Lehman Brothers-scale bankruptcies outside of Russia. [2:30] One beneficiary of the market uncertainty is oil. Listen as Kuppy breaks down why today's high prices are only the beginning… [7:40] Uranium continues to move higher as governments look to replace "dirty energy" like coal and oil. Kuppy shares what investors should pay attention to beyond the price of uranium… how he's investing in the sector… and the most contrarian trade in today's market. [16:00] Finally, Kuppy's newsletter, KEDM, is a great idea generator. He gives us the background story on how it got started… and who his research helps. [26:50] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 862What Biden could learn from Mike Tyson
President Biden delivered his first State of the Union address last night. Daniel shares what he thought Biden did well… while I focus on what upset me about the speech—and what politicians could learn from Mike Tyson. [0:45] Of course, much of the address centered on Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Daniel and I discuss the economic sanctions against Russia… whether they're working as planned… and how the war will impact energy prices. [9:53] Fed Chair Jerome Powell announced plans to raise interest rates by 0.25% later this month... saying he "hopes" inflation goes down. While I'm riled up about the flip-flopping Fed, Daniel says I shouldn't be surprised. [14:25] Warren Buffett released his annual letter to Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) shareholders over the weekend. Daniel explains why every investor should read these letters… and a couple of items that stood out to him from this year's. And we discuss why Berkshire will benefit from inflation. [20:10] Next, we focus on Buffett's comments regarding share buybacks. I break down why you should pay attention to Buffett's share repurchases… And Daniel highlights one company aggressively buying back its stock. [26:16] During its recent earnings report, semiconductor company Ambarella (AMBA) said the supply chain crisis is far from over. This will have a huge impact across sectors—and automakers in particular. [31:48] Speaking of autos, Ford (F) continues to spew bulls*** about its electric vehicles (EVs). I go on a small rant about the company's tactics to distract from its problems… and why I'd consider shorting Ford right now. [33:13] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 861Russia's actions are bullish for this sector…
I've spent a ton of time on the road lately for… gymnastics. My daughter's competitions have given me a front-row seat on some impressive athletes… and some made-for-TV drama. [0:30] I share a few observations from my travels—including a bullish sign for Disney (DIS)... and how interest rate hike fears appear to be impacting the Florida housing market. [3:40] A big unknown right now is whether we'll see any economic fallout from the Russia sanctions. I explain the war's effects on two critical market factors: oil and inflation. [8:00] Another unknown is how aggressive the Fed will be in 2022… Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Wall Street thinks the Fed will only hike interest rates by 25 basis points (0.25%) this month—instead of the 0.50% increase it was previously expecting. I disagree… and explain why you should be ready for a 50-point rate hike. [12:05] I highlight some names that are doing great and a few that are struggling… my strategy for buying stocks in this volatile market… one "no-brainer" sector right now… and another I expect to keep surging due to Russian aggression. [20:10] Pivoting to digital assets… crypto is rallying hard this week. I break down why this asset class continues to attract money from around the globe. [28:10] The current market shows why hedging your portfolio is more important than ever. I share some of my preferred hedging strategies… and things to look for if you're putting money into the market right now. [32:40] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 860One biotech's 80% single-day plunge: A case study for investors
Biotech Kodiak Sciences (KOD) plunged 80% in one day after a major drug trial setback. In today's episode, we focus on why this company captivated Wall Street… and what investors can learn from the selloff. [1:45] I've been following Kodiak for a while… We once bought and sold it for a gain in Curzio Venture Opportunities. Even recently, the Baker Brothers—some of the best biotech investors—were buying heavily. [3:40] But this week… the Phase 3 study for its most exciting drug missed expectations. [7:50] The situation is a strong example of why investors must pay attention to expectations—both high and low… and be willing to adjust as facts change. [11:00] When expectations are leaning either bullish or bearish, consider the contrarian trade… It's how you make the biggest gains as an investor. [26:00] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 859The commodity trade is far from over
Daniel's back in the office and I rib him about taking a sick day… the day before his birthday! [0:30] Markets continue to be volatile around the Russia-Ukraine conflict. We discuss Russia's latest "peacekeeping missions"... and why Biden's sanctions will actually help the Kremlin. [2:45] I point out the huge difference in public perception between Russia and China… and why the U.S. (wrongly) takes a different approach in its dealings with these two countries. [7:50] Hopefully the Russia-Ukraine situation is a short-term problem for markets… and once it resolves, it could be the perfect time to buy oil stocks and other commodity-related plays. [11:45] Speaking of commodities, coal is surging—and the price will remain elevated for the foreseeable future. While "coal" is a swear-word in most investing circles… investors in this commodity stand to make a ton of money. [14:00] Another swear-word in the investing world: Uranium. We share why we're shocked prices aren't much higher. [19:55] Turning to inflation… markets continue to anticipate multiple interest rate hikes this year. JPMorgan thinks we'll see nine in a row. Daniel and I debate whether the Fed will be aggressive enough… and Daniel explains why rising oil prices will give the Fed some wiggle room. [24:15] Virgin Galactic, a popular SPAC, is making headlines following its earnings report. I break down why SPACs are terrible for individual investors—for the most part… And whether there's any value to Trump's SPAC, Digital World Acquisition Corp. (DWAC). [32:30] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 858A major indicator suggests stocks are about to roar higher
I just came back from Baltimore, where I recorded a new special report I'm excited to share with you… how to make an absolute fortune from future government policies. [0:17] The Russia-Ukraine crisis is creating tons of market volatility and uncertainty—but this will be a short-term problem for investors. [4:00] I call out Europe for talking a big game against Russia… without any serious consequences. I also call out Germany and Great Britain for their weak actions in the conflict. [5:57] Why Russia has the most leverage of any country in the world right now… why it may not invade Ukraine after all… and why Ukraine isn't as innocent of a country as it seems… [10:15] While Russia/Ukraine tensions have taken center stage… the bigger risk investors should be worrying about is the Fed and how it plans to control runaway inflation. Some believe this risk is already priced in based on a leading indicator… [14:10] I highlight companies/sectors you should continue to avoid… while explaining how to structure your portfolio to take advantage of the volatility. S1 Ep 857The greatest strategy most investors will never use
Genia Turanova, editor of Moneyflow Trader and Unlimited Income here at Curzio Research, joins me to discuss why higher inflation and rising interest rates will help separate certain companies from the rest of the market… and one sector with massive upside potential. [0:45] Moneyflow Trader was designed to help investors hedge against market risks and volatility. Since taking over the product two years ago, Genia has closed, on average, one triple-digit winner every 10 weeks! She walks us through her strategy… why options don't have to be scary… and the difference between shorting stocks and hedging your portfolio. [6:20] But options don't just help you protect against the downside… Genia explains how you also can use them to benefit from the upside. [16:20] Finally, she shares her favorite ideas today—both on the short and long side. [18:05] I wrap the show by explaining why Moneyflow Trader is one of my favorite products we offer—and why it's perfect for the environment we're currently in. [27:00] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 856This 'obvious' trade could generate 100% gains in 12 months
Sectors from autos to apparel to semiconductors are warning of the impact inflation could have if it's not brought under control… and the Fed needs to move aggressively to fight it. Daniel and I discuss whether the market is pricing in inflation… and why we're skeptical of the Fed doing the right thing. [0:45] Speaking of higher interest rates, I share my experience getting a construction loan for my new house… and the impact higher rates could have on the housing market. [8:40] Growth stocks continue to be extremely volatile as higher rates loom… And one of Daniel's favorites has been unfairly hit over the past few months. Daniel explains why investors should be watching this remarkable growth story. [16:45] Crocs (CROX) announced it would be suspending share buybacks to focus on lowering its debt. I explain why I think this is a smart move… and whether Crocs is a buy at current levels. [22:10] Plus, we discuss the impact of easing mask requirements… and the best opportunity for 100% gains over the next year as we continue to adjust to the new normal. [25:40] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 855The real story behind the Russia-Ukraine conflict
What a weekend… I give my thoughts on the big game, which included a few frustrating play calls. [0:30] Speaking of frustrating… I need to rant about the impending conflict between Russia and Ukraine. I've done a ton of homework on the tensions between these two countries. A lot of folks won't like what I have to say. Brace yourself for the truth about who's right in this conflict… and why the U.S. has no business being involved. [4:55] I break down why Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world… What history tells us about the issues between the two nations… And the ridiculous politics involved. [7:40] Plus, I highlight which country is the real threat to the U.S. even though most folks are afraid to admit it. [12:00] I explain why Ukraine (potentially) joining NATO is such a huge deal… and why it will probably never happen. [15:50] Finally, how worried should investors be about the Ukraine situation? It's triggering a lot of volatility in the market… but you can use it to your advantage. [19:45] And speaking of the choppy market, we're running a special promotion for Moneyflow Trader—which focuses on profiting from volatility. I break down Genia Turanova's strategy… and highlight a recent trade that generated a 165% gain in less than a month. [23:35] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 854How to pick the Super Bowl winner with 80% accuracy
Andrew Horowitz, founder of Horowitz & Company, host of The Disciplined Investor podcast, and fan-favorite guest, starts the show with a New Year's resolution that's going well… [0:30] Usually, Andrew's a laid-back guy… but the Fed has him fired up. He shares the only solution to higher inflation—if the Fed doesn't screw it up. [3:05] Next, we discuss the huge moves in Meta (FB) and Amazon (AMZN)... and what they say about the current market environment. [11:00] Another thing that's got Andrew fired up: SPACs. He breaks down how these companies use gimmicks to drive up prices… and calls out one popular hedge fund manager for screwing over individual investors. [16:10] As always, Andrew shares some of his favorite stock ideas—including one company poised to benefit from the massive metaverse trend. [20:40] To wrap the interview, Andrew shares what's catching his attention outside the U.S… why diversification is critical, especially in today's markets… and what to watch out for if the U.S. dollar starts rising. [26:25] Super Bowl weekend is almost here, which means it's time for my yearly tradition: breaking down the matchup to pick a winner. I've been doing this for years, and my system has an 80% win rate. I share some interesting stats on this year's teams—the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals… and which one I believe will be this year's champion. [30:40] Finally, as you probably know, our Curzio Equity Owners security is now trading on the tZERO ATS (Alternative Trading Platform) under the ticker CURZ. [47:55] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 853The death of COVID will lead to an explosion in these stocks
We have a few fun topics to kick off the show: Daniel highlights the PGA tour in Scottsdale, Arizona this week… And I'm boasting a new look after a haircut didn't go as planned. [0:30] As COVID cases trend lower, states like California and New York have begun to lift mask mandates and related restrictions. I highlight one group of stocks set to soar as everyone cheers the end of COVID. [2:40] After reporting weak earnings last week, Meta (FB) gave back a year's worth of gains… in two trading sessions. Daniel, who's been bullish on this name through COVID, shares his takeaway, both from a fundamental and an emotional perspective… And I highlight what I'd need to see to add to my own position. [11:48] Cannabis grower Canopy Growth (CGC) caught my attention with its earnings. I share why I'm intrigued by this space… and why I'd look to trade cannabis stocks vs. holding them long-term. [20:05] Finally, I answer some of your questions on our Curzio Equity Owners security, which officially began trading on the tZERO ATS (Alternative Trading System) under the ticker CURZ. S1 Ep 852Why the move to 'go green' is complete bulls***
Over the weekend, I attended my daughter's gymnastic competition... and found out (once again) why the saying "happy wife, happy life" is accurate. [0:30] It's a huge week here at Curzio Research. Yesterday, our Curzio Equity Owners security began trading on the tZERO ATS (Advanced Trading System). I share why investors should dig into the security token space… and how it's disrupting Wall Street's old ways of raising capital. [4:30] The opportunity in security tokens reminds me of several other revolutionary trends—from fracking to the Internet of Things (IoT)... And it benefits both issuers and investors. [7:35] Moving on, the Fed's coming rate hikes aren't priced into the markets. I highlight why the Fed won't be able to control inflation… [17:35] But as inflation moves higher, one left-for-dead sector is booming: traditional energy. I break down why the push to green energy is backfiring… and how to gain exposure to this space. [20:50] The volatility we're seeing right now is no joke… Some of the biggest stocks, from Meta (FB) to Amazon (AMZN), are moving 20% in a day—and moves like these are likely our "new normal." [25:50] So, as we all adjust, I want to thank you, my listeners. We try very hard to help individual investors here at Curzio Research, and I genuinely appreciate all your support and feedback. [31:30]
S1 Ep 851How to get exposure to the best shipping companies in the world
Frank Holmes, CEO and chief investment officer of U.S. Global Investors, is back on Wall Street Unplugged. We kick things off by discussing the pullback in the markets… Frank explains why he believes the selloff is nearing a bottom… and why he doesn't expect interest rates to rise significantly this year. [2:00] Frank recently launched his own exchange-traded fund: the U.S. Global Sea to Sky Cargo ETF (SEA)—which gives investors access to some of the best shipping companies in the world. He highlights why everyone should have exposure to this sector right now… and how he picks assets for the fund. [4:40] Turning to gold, I ask why gold prices aren't higher right now given the favorable market conditions. Frank breaks down how gold prices can be manipulated… and shares a strategy from the crypto-mining "playbook" that gold miners should start using. [14:05] As executive chairman of crypto mining firm HIVE Blockchain Technologies, Frank knows a lot about this subject. He highlights how gamers are making some serious money off of crypto… HIVE's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy for its mining operations… and the massive growth his firm is seeing. [21:20] He also explains the different types of chips used for mining particular cryptos… [29:30] Next, Frank breaks down the difference between "proof of work" (PoW) and "proof of stake" (PoS)... and why fears over Ethereum's switch from the former to the latter are overblown.
S1 Ep 850After 12 years… numbers finally matter
Earnings season is underway… and after more than a decade, the results actually seem to matter to investors. Shares of Netflix (NFLX) are moving higher on strong earnings and huge insider buying. Daniel and I give our take on co-CEO Reed Hastings' "perfect timing" in scooping up shares… and whether Netflix will be able to maintain its dominant position as competition in the streaming space heats up. [0:45] UPS (UPS) is also moving to the upside after reporting blowout numbers, despite seeing higher costs in the quarter. I explain why, despite the rise in its stock price, the company is still trading at a reasonable valuation. [10:00] Daniel takes a small victory lap as his Dollar Stock Club recommendation, ExxonMobil (XOM), trades near 52-week highs following earnings. (It's up about 30% in the portfolio.) He breaks down how the push to "green energy" will actually drive oil higher… and ExxonMobil will continue to benefit. [14:00] Joe Rogan is sparking a heated debate over COVID "information" on Spotify, with artists pulling their music from the platform. I give my take on the drama… and whether Spotify (SPOT) is a buy at current levels given the negative press. [21:25] Turning to crypto, Meta Platforms (FB)—formerly Facebook—is ending its Diem stablecoin efforts… and selling the assets to Silvergate Capital (SI). I highlight why I love this move by Meta… and Daniel shares why it's great for Silvergate. [31:50]
S1 Ep 849Hundreds of thousands of assets are about to be tokenized
Big news: Our Curzio Equity Owners Token (CEO) token begins trading on the tZERO platform next week. I recap our incredible journey with CEO—from being just a wild idea a few years ago… to trading on a U.S.-based exchange. [0:30] But it's not just our token… Security tokens in general are finally gaining traction across the U.S. In fact, I've been talking with a lot of business owners showing huge interest in following our lead by creating their own. [3:00] I explain why I chose this avenue to grow my business… And why security token offerings (STOs) are a much better alternative to initial public offerings (IPOs), special-purpose acquisition companies (SPACs), or direct listings... [7:25] Finally, I walk through the process of creating a security token… and why I think there will be hundreds of thousands of new ones launched over the next five years. [21:50]
S1 Ep 848How to "Fed-proof" your portfolio
John Petrides, portfolio manager at Tocqueville Asset Management is back on the podcast to discuss current market volatility… and opportunity. To start, John gives his macro view of current market conditions… breaking down the volatility in growth stocks… interest rates… geopolitical risks… and more. [1:35] He explains why having an investing plan, along with managing expectations, is critical—especially in times like these… and why the current volatility has nothing to do with the market's fundamentals. [7:54] With interest rates expected to move higher, investors should focus on companies with strong balance sheets… John shares one "boring" investment to protect your portfolio, no matter what the Fed does. [9:05] Thematic investing, which focuses on specific long-term trends, gained a lot of momentum last year—especially in tech and other growth areas. While many of these stocks are significantly off their highs, John reveals why this investing thesis isn't dead… and some of his favorite "themes" to watch. [10:15] He also explains why he doesn't think we're headed for a recession... [17:00] Finally, as interest rates move higher, John points out why investors shouldn't just focus on the higher number. S1 Ep 847COVID lies are finally exposed… And that's bullish for stocks
Daniel and I kick things off by discussing the recent market volatility. While the quickness of the pullback is surprising… investors should expect the large market swings to continue. [1:45] But market pullbacks create opportunities… and I'm seeing way more value in small caps than in large caps. [4:50] Fed Chair Jerome Powell is holding a press conference later today following the January Fed meeting. Here's what I think he'll say about rate hikes and inflation. [8:00] This week, Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson (R) held a hearing called COVID-19: A Second Opinion. Daniel and I share what stood out to us about the hearing… how it broke the mainstream narrative… and why the takeaway is bullish for the markets. [11:05] As economies move past Omicron, Daniel names a few sectors he's researching… and a stock that will benefit as interest rates and inflation continue higher. [19:35] Microsoft (MSFT) just reported its latest earnings. I highlight the results… and why we're entering a stock picker's market. [27:45] Volatility isn't just in stocks but cryptocurrencies, as well—the price of Bitcoin has fallen about 40% from its all-time high just a couple months ago. But former Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein is still bullish on crypto… Daniel and I break down his recent comments. [30:50] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 846The best opportunity to buy small caps in a decade
Market volatility is rampant. I break down the wild action so far this week… and why this market is unlike anything we've ever seen. [0:30] While I didn't expect this strong of a pullback this quickly, I've been warning about risks to the downside. I explain what inflation rates tell us about the possibility of a recession—and why that possibility isn't as scary as it seems. [6:05] While it may be hard to see through the volatility, this is one of the best times to buy small caps in 10 years… and I expect one small-cap sector to see a major comeback in 2022. (It's the sector I highlight in this month's issue of Curzio Venture Opportunities, being released tomorrow.) [12:20] I compare two growth stocks—Roblox (RBLX) and Rivian (RIVN)—that are selling off hard… and tell you which one I'd buy at current levels. [22:30] Turning to questions… Is now a good time to buy gold and silver stocks? In short, yes. I share why the environment for precious metals is fantastic… and how I would invest in the sector. [31:40] Could the Fed surprise the market and announce an interest rate hike during its meeting this week? I highlight what I expect from the Fed… [34:50] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 845A no-brainer way to profit from higher gold prices
As you may know by now, ith Frank traveling, I (Daniel) am leading the show this week. Market volatility continues to dominate the headlines, and gold prices are quietly moving higher. I share why it's a great idea for all investors to have exposure to gold… and a few different ways you can invest… including one stock that's management team, yield, and operating costs make it an absolute no-brainer. [1:40] My gold thesis somewhat overlaps with my crypto thesis. I highlight why everyone should have exposure to this asset class too… and one of my favorite stocks in the space. [14:15] Frank recently returned from the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Check out his free special report to find out which tech companies every investor should watch in 2022. [21:50] Finally, I share research from a listener who disagreed with my thoughts on China as a short-term investment. [22:25] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 844How Microsoft's megadeal will launch it into the metaverse
I (Daniel) am behind the mic this week as Frank conducts some boots-on-the-ground research into some of his latest ideas. Microsoft (MSFT) is buying gaming giant Activision Blizzard (ATVI) for around $70 billion. I highlight some details around the merger… Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's incredible deal-making track record… and how this deal sets up Microsoft to become a massive player in the metaverse trend. [1:35] And Microsoft isn't alone… The world's largest companies are all investing heavily in the metaverse. In fact, Frank just released his 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) watchlist, which includes several stocks set to benefit from this massive growth trend over the coming years. [15:40] I explain why MSFT is a great long-term investment… and why I see a potential arbitrage opportunity in ATVI right now. [16:45] As inflation continues to move higher, so does crude oil—it just hit a seven-year high. I break down the current geopolitical risks to the sector… why investors should brace for oil prices to continue rising… and a few names set to profit from higher crude prices. S1 Ep 843Three industry titans on inflation… and future market returns
With Frank on a boots-on-the-ground research trip, I (Daniel) am behind the mic to cover today's top headlines. Earnings season is officially underway. I share my thoughts on the latest results from JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Delta Airlines… and what they tell us about the macro environment. [2:12] Focusing on Delta, I explain why CEO Ed Bastian's recent comments are positive for the economy. [4:33] BlackRock CEO Larry Fink talked to CNBC about inflation, earnings season, and why he expects market gains to be muted going forward. I highlight why it's important for investors to manage expectations accordingly. [10:07] Hedge fund titan Bill Ackman took to Twitter to express his views on how the Fed should approach inflation. I break down why the Fed is in a tough position as it tries to balance economic needs with market concerns. [14:48] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 842'The Mooch' unplugged
The one and only Anthony "The Mooch" Scaramucci—renowned investment banker and former White House Director of Communications—joins me to discuss the volatility and opportunity in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Listen as Anthony gives a macro view on Bitcoin… why El Salvador's recent adoption of the crypto as a national currency is a huge breakthrough… and how the current crypto market reminds him of the early days of Amazon. [1:40] He explains why cryptos are great for society… and how investors should think about allocating money to the space. [8:00] In addition to Bitcoin and Ethereum, Anthony shares another crypto catching his attention (which also happens to be a Crypto Intelligence holding)... and why he's bullish on the massive opportunity in the metaverse. [15:35] Anthony also explains why he believes Bitcoin will hit $500,000 by 2025. [23:00] You probably know of Anthony not just for his prestige as an investor… but also because for the 11 days he served under former President Trump (before ultimately advising a Republican super-PAC to oppose Trump's reelection). Anthony gives his take on political bipartisanship… and the structural changes he'd like to see implemented throughout the government. [29:50] And, as a native New Yorker, Anthony shares why he's excited about the city's newly elected mayor, Eric Adams. [38:30] Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 841This CEO is the most powerful person in crypto
I'm back from the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES)... and you might not believe some of the wild tech I saw showcased—from microchips for sexual health… to flying cars… to a thumb-sucking stuffed animal (as in… it sucks YOUR thumb). To see some of this tech yourself, check out my updates from the show on TikTok, YouTube, and our CES 2022 Timeline. [0:30] Inflation is at its highest level in 40 years… but the markets seem to be taking it in stride. Daniel and I discuss the market narrative around inflation—including JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon's recent comments on the strength of the economy and consumer debt levels. [9:00] I share a great lesson on how to think about debt—based on a popular company that's unfairly criticized for its debt. [11:40] Daniel shares why he's looking to "boring" companies for the current market environment… Speaking of which, today's Curzio Research Advisory recommendation is one of my favorite "boring" companies… but its growth story is more exciting than you might think. [15:53] With Bitcoin bouncing higher after dipping below $40,000, I'm more bullish than ever for crypto. That said, you've got to mitigate risk and manage the inherent volatility of the crypto markets. In Crypto Intelligence, for example, we use smaller position sizes to build exposure over time. Daniel and I discuss one of our favorite portfolio holdings… and why I believe the company's CEO is the most powerful person in crypto. [24:25] I close by pounding the table on why you must educate yourself on the crypto industry… and why Crypto Intelligence is the best way to do it. [31:00]
S1 Ep 840The best and worst of CES 2022
What a great and busy start to the year… I just returned from the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2022)... and today, I'll highlight the best and worst companies that showcased at the event. [0:30] But first, Goldman Sachs just increased its prediction for the number of interest rate hikes we'll see this year as the Federal Reserve attempts to control inflation… I pound the table on why inflation is the biggest risk to the markets today… the single, painful solution I see for the Fed… and how to start protecting your portfolio NOW. [1:30] Cryptos are also seeing a lot of volatility, with Bitcoin dropping from $60,000 to around $40,000 over the past month or so. I explain why the pullback is creating a great buying opportunity. [7:50] Turning to CES, while Omicron had an obvious impact on the number of attendees (several companies ended up canceling last-minute)... there were still plenty of amazing products being showcased—like BMW's new electric vehicle (EV), which I got to test-drive. [9:20] One of the biggest themes of the event was the "metaverse." While the whole concept is still somewhat ambiguous… the biggest companies—including Apple, Google, Facebook, and Microsoft—are already making big moves into the trend. [20:00] But two companies really stole the show… and I believe one device in particular will become my personal favorite product of the year. [25:50] Finally, a new cross-industry alliance is a huge deal for the smart home trend. [29:20] Check out our YouTube, TikTok, and the CES 2022 Timeline for all of my deep-dive updates from this year's event. Enjoyed this episode? S1 Ep 839This 'adults-only' trend is creating a stir at CES 2022
As many of you know, Frank is in Las Vegas this week attending the 2022 Consumer Electronic Show (CES 2022). In the meantime, I (Daniel) am taking over the mic. A recent report highlighted why Americans are "unhappy" with the handling of the COVID pandemic. But it does indicate a positive shift for the economy—and the markets. [2:17] I've been critical of Jim Cramer in the past… but credit where it's due. Cramer recently made a strong argument about the risks we face from China. I explain why I'd steer clear of China as a long-term investment… but it might make a good trade in the short term. [10:15] With inflation set to ramp up this year, I highlight several "boring" stocks that are set to benefit from an inflationary environment. [17:35] Finally, I share a few updates from Frank on the most dominant tech trends showcasing at CES 2022… including one that's "adults only." [21:46] For CES updates, including interviews with tech leaders and potential stock ideas, you can follow Frank on TikTok, YouTube, and on Curzio's CES 2022 timeline. Enjoyed this episode?
