Het verhaal van het Instituut voor Tropische Geneeskunde begint in 1906 bij Leopold II in Brussel met 'un cours de préparation pour les médecins se destinant à la carrière tropicale'. In 1933 verhuist het Instituut naar Antwerpen waar het opleidingscentrum met kliniek uitgroeit tot een wereldvermaard instituut voor onderwijs, onderzoek en medische zorg. Nu is er een boek over 120 jaar geschiedenis, opgevat als een rondleiding door het iconische art-decogebouw. Nico Van Aerde is onze gids.
