The National Contact Points constituted under the OECD are not courts of law and are not meant to give judgments that offer penalties to offenders. The NCP is a dispute resolution mechanism intended to serve a specific purpose – of bringing together parties in a dispute to arrive at a solution. Frode Elgesem is a Norwegian lawyer and member of the country’s NCP. In this podcast he speaks with IHRB’s Salil Tripathi about what NCPs can and cannot do. Frode Elgesem is a senior lawyer who has worked on cases involving white collar crime, European law, anti-corruption matters, anti-trust cases, and human rights. He has been an associate in the office of the attorney general and a senior partner at a law firm.
